I can think of one instance where He did that very thing
One day the angels[1] came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan[2] also came with them.
7 The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."
8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."
9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied.
10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."
12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
That was a theological statement..I suggested that you go to the source for the answer..a source used by Christians and Jews.
Interesting that you would rather think that God has so little interest and so little love for this nation that He would let Satan kill 5,000 "innocent "people and do nothing to intervene
Yet you find it hard to believe that God could have caused it or allowed it to bring you to your knees..
Eithor way God is involved..
Your anger isnt at me..it is at the truth that your heart knows..this nation is going to be judged by God for its sin..you know that..you dont want to believe it but you know it..so you yell at me..
Who am I ?Just a grandma that loves this country and like Rachael weeps for its children
There is no difference between what Jerry Falwell said and what Osama Bin Laden said.
Ok ... Now what?
Please enlighten me. Why did God kill the good chaplain on the eleventh day of the ninth month of the current year if not simply because he was part of the price for our sins?
So God smashed the little children on the airplanes to a horrible flaming death, to bring America to it's knees?
And you worship this God?
You call him good?
I understood the God of Abraham to be a loving God.
Maybe you misunderstand your God. Is that possible?
Yet you find it hard to believe that God could have caused it or allowed it to bring you to your knees..
So did God cause it, or did Satan cause it?
Your statements above make no sense.
Do you try to THINK logically with the brain God gave you, or do you just spout Scripture?
"Innocent" people die all the time..drunk drivers, abusive parents or spouses..accidents..How many babies were aborted this year..do you have as much outrage for them?
Yes the people in the tower were sinners..hard to take huh? You want to make them saints because they were killed in a terrorist attack?
All of them stood in the presence of God at the moment of death ,just as you and I will..The mode of their death was horrific..but for every thing there is a season,a time to be born and a time to die..that was their hour..I pray that they were ready.I pray we are all ready when our time comes to stand in Gods judgement
What was the message about the account of the Tower of Siloam falling over? They were sinners, yes, but they were not the worst sinners. The worst sinners at that time got a pass for a long time as far as we know. . . we are all sinners and God's ways are not our ways.
Interesting to hear what some of the others think or perhaps it's just best to leave it alone.
Could God have allowed Satan to cause it?
I believe that God allowed it..to acheive His purposes
7 "But you did not listen to me," declares the LORD, "and you have provoked me with what your hands have made, and you have brought harm to yourselves."
8 Therefore the LORD Almighty says this: "Because you have not listened to my words,
9 I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon (bad guy) (osama bin laden)," declares the LORD, "and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.
10 I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.
11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 "But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon (bad guy)(osama bin laden) and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt," declares the LORD, "and will make it desolate forever.
God uses anybody to do His will...Please remember Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD." . All in all, it is less a question of whether God uses anybody to fulfill His way, but rather 'what do we learn from this, and what do we do about it?'
Little children die all the time..some as infants in the womb..cut up or brains sucked out..are you outraged at that?
Little children die in car acidents caused by drunk drivers..are you outraged at that ?
Why do see this as somehow worse?
Of course God allowed it.
Earlier, you said He caused it. I'm glad to see you're having second thoughts.
Billy Graham, who has spent sixty years preaching from Scripture, said on national television at the Prayer service that he couldn't explain this horrible act.
Those of you who can baffle the hell out of me.
