GOD DID IT, PART II
Dynamist.com ^

GOD DID IT, PART II: Reader Randall Parker calls my attention to this Worldnet Daily article by Anthony C. LoBaido, which makes Jerry Falwell's offensive theodicy look sophisticated and kind. A small sample:

Is New York the head of the "Great Satan"? All that is evil in the world can be found in New York: MTV, the United Nations, the U.N. abortion programs, the Council on Foreign Relations, New Age Church of St. John the Divine, Wall Street greed, Madison Avenue manipulation and of course more confirmed AIDS cases than the rest of America combined. Let's remember the filthy sodomite gay parade last summer in New York. Let's remember all the New York politicians falling all over themselves to praise this sick spectacle.

And let's not forget that New Yorkers elected—by a landslide—the openly Marxist, treasonous and abortion-mongering, occultic Hillary to a Senate seat. All while fully knowing what she was all about.

So are we all innocent here in New York? Are we innocent with our porno, drugs, filthy Jay Leno monologues, our idolatry, materialism and consumerism? Innocent when Republican Governor George Pataki stands next to the blood-stained dictator of Communist China as he rings the opening bell for the stock market on Wall Street?...

Can the remnant in America help but honestly ask themselves: Is this the fulfillment of Revelation chapters 17 and 18 (Mystery Babylon) or has God raised up Shiite Islam as a sword against America?

These guys should apologize to their fellow Americans, but first they should apologize to God. Since WND chooses to end the piece with a plug for my friend Hugh Hewitt's book, implicating Hugh in the article's sentiment, I've asked Hugh for a response. I hope he will cancel his Worldnet Daily column. Free speech is essential as government policy, but there are some people, as Ramesh Ponnuru puts it in this excellent column, whom civilized people should not let into our houses. Not only LoBaido but the editors who published him should be shunned. [Posted 9/15.]

If my people, which are called by my name , shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. II Chron 7:12

As a Nation we have left our first love. America began as One Nation under God. But we have kicked God out of every one of our secular institutions. We have sought to appease the gods of prosperity at the risk of angering the one true and living God. As a nation we have sacrificed over 30,000,000 children on the alter of prosperity and we have elected and re-elected a serial adulterer to rule over us because it was "the economy stupid."

This situation may or may not have been allowed by God as a judgement on America. (I would call it a shot across the bow). But we, as a Nation need to repent of our sins and seek after God. We are about to enter into a War without borders and without a visble enemy. May God protect us and May God Bless us. But let us not think that victory can be obtained without His hand upon us. It can't.

If anyone thinks that America is a great nation for any reason other than it is God's will that America be a great nation, then they are sorely deceived.

Make no mistake, this tragedy is something that will be used to God's glory. Our church was overflowed for all 4 services today and nearly 1000 people made confessions for Christ. Those who meant this thing for evil will find that God meant it for good.

doubt they are even believers

Folks who attribute the works of Satan to our merciful Christ.. ARE NOT believers dearie. Get it straight. Don't ever assume and then tell me they are my brothers or sisters just because they say they are "believers" either.

God does NOT use Satan to do his wet work. And if you think so... you may need to get saved yourself.

If you think God was working in Osami and co. actions this week... I feel sorry for you.

Such is Blasphemy.

Also remember that the people who died are in a better place (heaven) so this was not a punishment for them but a reward!

Interesting -- I think that's what the terrorists who hijacked the planes thought as well. Why else would people engage in a kamikaze mission causing certain death to themselves and others unless they thought they were going to be rewarded in heaven by God?

BTW before their was Reagan, Rush, Newt, Pat,ect. Their was the Reverand Jerry Falwell. He was fighting the Liberal establishment with the Moral Majority when their were NO CONSERVATIVE LEADERS. This is a man of courage and honor without whom there would have been no Reagan revolution. You conservatives better learn your history and back the man up.-MM

Reagan ran for president before anybody ever heard of Jerry Falwell. Falwell got famous because of Reagan, not the other way around.

God will pass judgement on this Nation..you may not like it ,but He isnt asking for your approval... Let's go on and work towards being the light again. "

We must find a way to convey to the nation that the Lord's punishment/correction is to get us to "..humble ourselves and turn back to him. Then he will turn to us and heal our nation.
Freepers, why are some of you failing to see that the Holy God of Israel requires holiness in His people?
There is nothing unAmerican about recognizing the need for us - as a nation - to Repent and turn back to God.

There are a number of incidences in scripture where The Holy One of Israel sent His people into bondage or allowed them to be defeated - So That! they would turn back to Him. This is not to hurt us but to bring us back to the place where he can Bless us.

There are ample scripture examples of God doing this type of thing to bring His people back to Him. This is not an unloving thing, it is the ultimate sign of God's affection.

Since you missed the first part of Deuteronomy 12 regarding the blessings for obedience (v. 1-14), and were not thankful, take a gander at the cursings for disobedience and stop the silly notion that "God will not do that". Of course He will do that. You just weren't paying attention! You don't know Him. Repent while there is time.

CORRECTION TO #199: The above was a typo. It should have been Deuteronomy 28 v. 1-14.

I agree with you. God allowed this to happen, he wants us to wake up and repent.

Hello OWK.

"People here are suggesting that their God smashed innocent little children against the side of a flaming building to "teach America a lesson"

Though I think you are hyping this up just a bit OWK I will assume that you are more interested in the truth than having a red hot go at a bit of a red herring.

Assuming God actually does exist it follows that there can be no bystanders in this world. In the sense that if an individual or a nation moves away from God they then move closer to the camp of the enemy so to speak.

There is no place to stand outside of this.If you are not for God then you allow yourself to fall into the enemies hands.

May God bless you OWK

Hi! With due respect to your position can I have a bit of a take as to how I see it. I think it is more of a case of reaping what you sow rather than a case of specifically being God's judgement.

ie America supports a group of radical fundamentalsit Muslims like the Taliban in the war against Russia for Afghanistan. No matter what we may have thought of the Russians at the time supporting this group was wrong. Afghanistan becomes the home of Asama Bin Liner.

America is the home to much sin and perversion as it currently stands ie abortion, drugs, sexual perversion etc. Bin Liner sees this and thinks America is weak because of this. Indeed America has lost much of it's moral and spiritual authority. Had it not there is no way Bin Liner would have attacked the USA on it's home soil for the fear of God would have been against him.

This incident should wake up America to it's own sin. But I fear that it will not as a whole even though many individuals may.

Certainly the Judgement of God will be a far more fearfull thing than we have experienced in the past week and I would not like to be of those counted as His enemies.

God Bless

Mel

Billy Graham, who has spent sixty years preaching from Scripture, said on national television at the Prayer service that he couldn't explain this horrible act. Yes. But the last forty-five of those sixty years, the Reverend Graham has been apostate from his own denomination.

If your pope had spent the last forty-five years undermining the doctrines of the church of Rome, I doubt you'd be too interested in anything he said.

Invoking the Reverend Graham doesn't mean any more to me than quoting the Reverend Jackson or the Reverend Sharpton.

Lynn so many do not want to hear that their personal righteous is as filthy rags.."they are good people" enough for the world, but not for God..

I am trusting God to use this for some ears to be open to hear the "Come"

MY two cents...Oh he knows,he knows very well...but he refuses to say it..he tickles ears that puts bread on his table..It is a shame..there is no gospel of compromise!

If you're speaking of the Southern Baptist Convention, maybe it's not Graham who's the apostate.

Well, sinky, given that Graham has evangelized openly for Rome for decades, I can hardly be surprised that you feel so warmly toward him.

The fact, documented by his own ministry, that fewer than 1% of his "converts" ever end up regualarly attending church should tell you something. So, even if you like to have a "Baptist" like Graham working for Rome, he actually costs you money and time and makes people even more unrepentant and unreachable. The indications are very strong that Graham's ministry is almost as futile as that of the evangelist Finney in the nineteenth century, particularly in that it leaves people less likely or interested in responding to Christ.

So you Romanists who like the fact that Graham works for you do have your own reward. And you're welcome to it and to him.

It's unfortunate that Graham's true beliefs and doctrine aren't more widely known among Baptists. Most of them think that Graham is a Baptist like themselves instead of an apostate. Of course, Clinton and Gore and Carter were also allowed to masquerade as Baptists so perhaps this isn't too surprising after all.

Matthew 7 KJV
19
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

There's plenty of biblical precedent of God using wicked foreign nations to punish national sins. He used the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Ninevites, and other nations to punish and warn a sinful and apostate Israel. Jesus in the new testament also spoke of a certain tower of Siloam which fell on 18 people and warned the crowd that the same fate awaited them if they did not repent. Jesus spoke many more times about judgement and damnation then most realize. However whether this horrible incident is a warning from God or not, I can't say. But it sure wouldn't hurt if America cleaned up it's act somewhat. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, but sin is a reproach to any people. God calls the nations a "drop in the bucket" and "nothing, and less then nothing," and are his to do with as He pleases. Might be a good idea for all of us take heed of that.
