Well, sinky, given that Graham has evangelized openly for Rome for decades, I can hardly be surprised that you feel so warmly toward him.
The fact, documented by his own ministry, that fewer than 1% of his "converts" ever end up regualarly attending church should tell you something. So, even if you like to have a "Baptist" like Graham working for Rome, he actually costs you money and time and makes people even more unrepentant and unreachable. The indications are very strong that Graham's ministry is almost as futile as that of the evangelist Finney in the nineteenth century, particularly in that it leaves people
less likely or interested in responding to Christ.
So you Romanists who like the fact that Graham works for you
do have your own reward. And you're welcome to it and to him.
It's unfortunate that Graham's true beliefs and doctrine aren't more widely known among Baptists. Most of them think that Graham is a Baptist like themselves instead of an apostate. Of course, Clinton and Gore and Carter were also allowed to masquerade as Baptists so perhaps this isn't too surprising after all.
Matthew 7 KJV
- 19
- Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
- 20
- Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
- 21
- Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
- 22
- Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
- 23
- And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
