Heroes. Also--this means that they probably DID have a bomb, which is consistent with the reports of spread debris. I wonder if this was SOP for the other teams, and if so, how did they all smuggle bombs aboard? (I realize there's a couple of supposes here).

Why does this mean they had a bomb? I don't read this anywhere in this story. The operator told him what had happened in NY, and they surmised that was their fate as well. There is NOTHING in this telling about a bomb.

I may be wrong but I thought there was an eye witness to the crash who did not report an explosion while in the air. As I recall he reported the plane banking steeply toward the ground while at low altitude. That would be consistent with the passengers fighting for the controls. The bomb was probably just a fake to keep the passengers under control.

This had to be an inside job. I can see getting the plastic boxcutters with razor blade edges through security. A razor blade will not set off the detector. But a bomb? These guys had help from the inside. Some one or ones let them on.
