In favor of ethnic/national profiling (Arab male non-citizens)
September 12, 2001 | Charlie Henrickson

Posted on 09/12/2001 10:08:46 AM PDT by Charles Henrickson

There is growing evidence that confirms what we already suspected: The hijackers were groups of Arab male non-citizens.

I am in favor of ethnic/national profiling at our airports. If the passenger is:

1) Arab
2) Male (esp. in the 20-50 age range)
3) Non-U.S. citizen (esp. from the Middle East)

Then:

1) Search the luggage.
2) Search the carry-ons.
3) Frisk the person.

If there are two or more Arab male non-citizens boarding the same plane, double or triple the scrutiny.

Also, do not let anyone fitting the above profile work in an airport.

This is war.

Americans need to drop our notions of civilization and virtue and innocence when dealing with the lesser peoples inhabiting the terrorist world. That world, like ours, includes businessmen, soldiers, housewives, and children - but they are not like us.

They haven't been trained in political correctness and tolerance, they never pray for peace, they don't love their enemy. They are the embodiment of HATRED. They speak the language of hate 24/7, they pray for the death of their enemies and they cheer violence, offering their children as martyrs.

We cannot apply our Constitutional rights to them. They don't want them. They want us to die. They want to celebrate carnage. Rights? They don't speak the language of rights unless they are making demands and telling lies.

Drop the plea for "tolerance" and realize that there is no moral equivalence between America and the people of Islamic terror.

How can we call martyrdom "cowardly acts"? Do we not understand what the the term "holy war" means?

Our enemy has been convinced they are engaged in a jihad - a holy war for Islam. That means everyone plays a part in the war. They all fight together in their own way - they hide and support the leaders, they celebrate the dead heroes, they offer themselves and their children as shields, they pray constantly for bloodshed in the name of Allah.

They are not cowards - they are insanely brave fanatics of an evil, false, bloodthirsty religion.

Let us see the enemy clearly and recognize its twisted concept of God, duty, life and honor. It is the child of the father of lies and doomed to die.

When we fight against terrorism as we must now, we will not fight for peace. We will fight for the annihilation of our enemy. There is a difference.

May God grant us understanding, wisdom, strength, courage and victory over our enemies in truth, justice and righteousness.

From now on we must stop thinking like witless victims of jihad and believe in our hearts that we are the victors of this holy war in the name of God - not Allah.

I watched one of those cop shows on cable a few months ago, and they showed airport police in Miami searching people and their possesions at random. I was outraged at the violation of rights I was seeing and called an armchair lawyer friend of mine to discuss it. He informed me that airports are under federal jurisdiction and it is perfectly legal for them to do what they were doing.

I think your profiling proposal has merit.

No organism lacking an immune system to recognize antagonistic foreign bodies lives long. Not inspecting and controlling aliens of all sorts is political AIDS. It is suicidal.

We have to make sure we know who "we" are to survive.

As an aside, I know emergency measures often lead to government growth and excess. In fact, its this same arrogant and feckless use and waste of power by Clinton that has both made us hated and despised world wide as well as set the government against its citizens (BATF, IRS, EPA, Fish & Wildlife, etc.). But one battle at a time... If we don't protect ourselves against the external parasites, we won't get to deal with the internal ones.

Gees, why let anyone who even "looks" suspicious into the country in the first place? Perhaps we could post pictures in public places highlighting those particular facial characteristics we now know point to a person's propensity for violence against innocent people... Wait a minute....what about Tim McVeigh? Damn, perhaps a background search would turn up some unsavory semitic blood...perhaps some kind of blood test...or measuring the distance between one's eyes and chin...Whatever it takes to root out those responsible for the terrorist attacks, or heck, to at least hold responsible those people who look similar to the murderers.

I like the basic idea but would do the following:

1. Identify those countries that harbor or abet terrorists.

2. Require passports for all passengers on US flights or those headed for the US.

3. Do not allow ANY passengers (not matter who they are) from countries that are not with us in fighting terrorists.

4. Do not allow any Americans to travel to any of the terrorist countries or to have ANY financial or economic dealings with such countries or companies in them.

This will make it clear we are unwilling to allow such countries to be part of the civilized world.

The bleating of an anti-American, anti-Western, multiculturalist open-borders liberal. It's your type that has saddled us with millions of America-hating, seething, resentful third world immigrants whose communities provide cover for these and other terrorists.

Your attempt at sarcasm and exaggeration of what I actually wrote is not very effective. All I am suggesting is that anyone who fits the most likely profile--Arab male non-U.S. citizens--that we search what they bring on airplanes. Innocent people who fit the profile will still be able to board planes. They just will need to have their stuff searched before boarding.

Osama bin Laden and his gang of thugs have declared war on the U.S. His people almost invariably fit the profile.

No, you mentioned that people who fit a "profile" should not be allowed to work at airports. That goes too far. Profiling passengers is fine.

Uscit, seems like we already have plenty of seething hatred within our borders without all the scary foreigners. Let me guess, you wish me dead for being such a traitor to your America for standing up for people WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.

They may not have had PHYSICAL involvement, but their hearts run with cheering the deaths of Americans. It sounds almost like you are one of them.

Well, at least now you are backing off your initial mockery toward profiling passengers and searching the belongings of Arab male non-citizens before letting them board. I'm glad you have come around to see the good sense of that.

Now you are going after my secondary point, about not letting Arab male non-citizens work in airports. First of all, I'm not sure if it is even possible for non-U.S. citizens to work in airport security or ground crews. But if it is, I question whether it is wise to have citizens from those countries whose people are known to comprise or support Osama bin Laden's organization--whether they should be allowed to be in such sensitive positions, in view of the current crisis.

"...or measuring the distance between one's eyes and chin..." I know you were being facetious, but in addition to searching our luggage and carry-ons, I think everyone entering a plane SHOULD be scanned by the software that ID's you if you're on a wanted or suspect list. Those are God-given features (distance between eyes, etc.) and aren't in the same category as being registered or ID'd any other way.

Did Indonesia (over 50% Muslim) come out and CONGRATULATE Bin Laden today?

No. So quit your angel of death tactics.

You are suggesting that a number of American citizens be singled out. . . .

I said no such thing. I specifically and repeatedly said, "non-citizens". And only those who come from countries known to supply Osama bin Laden with men. And, as far as being passengers, only to have their belongings searched before being allowed to board.

If I get on a plane and see someone I "think" maybe Arab and I don't like the looks of him, the airline better give me a full refund or make other accomodations for me when I get off.
