I remember Air Marshalls around the time of the hijackings, and that seems like it was around the time that pilots and other plane crew were told that they could not have weapons in the cockpit. My first husband was a pilot, and I think it was before he left the AF and started flying commercial flights ... and I remember how crazy we thought it was, too.
Remember, it's not just Dems. Some of the most oppressive gun control measures have been passed by Republicans, too.
I don't know who did it, and I hope they're reaping what they've sown, but I do know that we must stop it, and we must reverse it. We do not need to give up any more of our civil liberties to be safer -- we must regain them to be safer. Period. No politician who announces such a thing as "giving up some of our civil liberties" should be allowed to hold office, because s/he is a traitor to this country.
The media, being the propaganda machine it is, will continue to give us unhealthy daily doses of "what is good for the country and our security". And many will continue to be brainwashed into oblivion by it. This terrorist coverage will be broadcast night and day for weeks on end while other important issues remain hidden in the shadows. Thank God for the internet.
