But I am furious...but when I came home for lunch, I saw a friend who has been frantically trying to get ahold of family members who live in NYC. No one can get ahold of her brother and her son--and her brother works near the World Trade Center. She was sobbing....and that's when I broke down. But I am MAD AS HELL AND I WON'T TAKE IT ANYMORE.

We will take action. And the fools who danced in the streets celebrating this attack will soon find out what the SUPER in SUPERPOWER means.

I can't verify this information, so take it for what it's worth, but I got a call about an hour ago from some one I know, who said he got a call from someone he knows who got a call from her son who is stationed at Camp David. He said that Camp David took a direct hit from a hijacked plane and that it was being covered up. I have a hard time believing that, and hope it isn't true.

I started praying for you, Silly, and dubya as soon as this attack was broadcast...we had the radio on at the P.O. and I kept it on while I delivered my mail route. Everyone was sent home from our Federal Building that was not vital to the delivery of the mail. We will be flying our flag at half-mast.

What makes me most angry is the numbers of souls LOST. May God turn many to Himself, drawing them with His love, before it is too late.

I have been thinking about retaliation all morning. What makes sense to me at this point is military attacks against any country which we determine harbors, finances or otherwise supports terrorists. I would announce this policy and attack within 24 hours.

Here in Illinois alone, which has NOT had any direct evidence of eminment terrorist attacks, they've done the following:

*Sears Tower immediately closed down and evacurated (likely terrorist target)
*All state and federal office building in Illinois and Sprinfield shut down
*Brookfield and Lincoln Park Zoo closed
* Loyola, Northwestern, Chicago, Roosevelt, DePaul, Columbia, and Illinois Universities all closed.
*All public schools in Cook and Lake Counties closed.
*Woodfield Mall closed
* All airports closed (obviously)
* Thompson Center/Illinois Building closed
* Lincoln memorial and all public museums in Springfield temporarily closed.
*Mail Service delayed.

This nation is at a standstill. In fact, it took me 25 minutes just to post A message on FreeRepublic!

This is what really worries me about the response of the US. Our govt has been only too willing to restrict our rights in "peacetime". Now that they have the "domestic terrorism" excuse, it may get rough.

That said, I support our President and say "NUKE 'EM....fast hard and repeatedly."

At last. A post which I can bump with agreement.

We are 7 minutes south of the burning Pentagon. We still cannot get onto the highway leading in that direction at 3:40 PM EST. Our bank is closed and even at this hour getting telephone connections out within our region is "chancey".

I am mindful of the fact that this is the anniversary of the Camp David "Accords". I have often wondered that all concerned didn't resent instead of "accord" as a result of our coercion.

It is also hard not to see that too many people will take any scapegoat in a pinch and even evil people can become scapegoats while being innocent of the specific evil act which has been committed.
