Damn....its like getting hit in the gut just reading it again. FR was the only source of news that day while I was office bound as no other sites would load.
To: McGavin999
Me neither. I want them all dead, and I wouldn't mind shooting a few myself!!

You're right. Not enough rage.
I live in Va. and was in NJ about a month ago. I could see the Empire State Building from my hotel room. All I could think was, there used to be buildings there and now they're gone. And all those people are dead. And all those babies who've been born since who'll never know their daddies because they died at the hand of terrorists.... I talked to the guy at the front desk of the hotel about it. He said he was driving somewhere and saw the whole thing from his car. It was like he was haunted. I cannot imagine what it is like to live with it the way the folks in NY/NJ have to every day. I just can't imagine.
It still makes me angry. I don't think I'll ever not be angry about it. But maybe I'll feel better when Saddam, OBL, et. al. are dead.

It is amazing to think back on that day - Now I watch people fret over the markets and the democrats trying to make political hay over Enron/Worldcom... Which is really just a hill of beans compared to 911. I remember W with the megaphone standing with the firefighters at ground zero and throwing out the first pitch at Yankee stadium. I was very proud of him. I remember the liberals worried about how we were treating the terrorists held in Cuba. It made me sick. They did a quick about face on that issue once they realized that 99% of the American public didn't want to hear about the "poor terrorists." Worth repeating! Democrats were secretly enjoying it. Just hoping that it would blowup in Bush's face. They are evil.

I still have nightmares of planes crashing and building's on fire....When I lived in Yonkers I hardley ever went down the city since lived so close....including the towers which I was never in because I thought it'll always be there and I can go whenever I want.... Recently My mom gave me a picture of the towers they took years ago and it's on my fridge....I look at it all the time and still can't believe they're gone.....Those bastards will pay.......

I cannot imagine how you must feel. I hope time will help.
One of the thoughts about those buildings while I was in NJ was that city skylines change all the time. But, usually, they change because someone wants to build something newer, hopefully better. This time the change was because some people who hate us decided to kill thousands of us and destoy us. It has stirred an anger in me I didn't think I had. And I didn't know anyone who was killed and I don't live in NY. But, still I am so angry. I have thought about making a trip to see ground zero. But, frankly, I am already so angry, I'm not sure I could handle it.
I am afraid we will forget too soon and our resolve will fade. Things like the Johnny Bin Walker plea bargain, coddling the prisoners in Gitmo, etc. I really wonder if we have what it takes. Maybe instead of re-instituting the draft, we should institute a "go to NY and see where the WTC used to be" policy or maybe go to the place where all the rubble was taken and see what used to be the WTC....

I was not happy either, but the teacher is a friend of mine and I have known her all 4 years because she is the yearbook advisor. I ran into her a lot being on the newspaper, even though I had a different advisor. She is very patriotic and so I think she decided to go ahead with class because she didn't think it would do any good to worry about it and she wanted to try to keep her mind on other things.
I am not saying I agreed with her......I was quite pissed about going on with class. But, I don't believe she had any unpatriotic or uncaring motives behind her decision.

I will never go down there!!!!! It's a giant cemetary....I didn't realize we were so hated.....I'm now flipping out because the schools are teaching the muslim faith and koran......unbelieveable!!!!! What's wrong with teaching the constitution and the history of this country......I couldn't care less about that religion......I'm sure Johnny Jihad will get his in prison....I doubt he'll be alive in 20 years......good riddance!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, my manager (at my job near Ground Zero) came into the office and asked me if I knew what date I started this job. Told him mid-Sept 2000. He said, "Sept. 11, 2000, to be precise."
Today this thread is bumped- A concidence, but one that gives me gooseflesh, nonetheless.

I was in the state health lab recently. All the doors, inside and out are now steel. I worked there 25 years ago. It was open to the public, had a snack bar. Now it has armed guards, and no one without an employee badge goes anywhere without an armed escort.
