HOUSTON — Could Texas really turn blue? This year’s U.S. Senate race is testing whether Democrats can win a seat the state has kept in Republican hands for nearly four decades. Democrat James Talarico is facing Republican Ken Paxton in a contest that has renewed attention on Democrats’ chances of winning statewide. Texas last elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in 1988, when Lloyd Bentsen won reelection. A Talarico victory would end that 38-year drought.

What they will do is force states to make things appear more affordable by manipulating things like the housing market, health care insurance, energy prices. It will be a shell game. Their answer to the housing market will be rent control and increased mandated “affordable housing”. Their answer to health care costs will be mandated insurance with much higher penalties to those who opt out. Get ready for “Medicare and Medicaid for all.” Their answer to higher food prices will be removing income restrictions from SNAP. Their answer to energy prices will be pushing for “green” energy and banning any decentralized power options.
But where will the money come from? Look in the mirror. I think we will see a national VAT in the next few years.
