The husband of the Rhode Island Democratic Party Chair Liz Beretta-Perik has been indicted in the alleged theft of $20 million from a now-closed community college through educational grants, according to Ohio state officials.
The Ohio Auditor of State's Office announced that Michael Perik, along with two other people, is accused of participating in a coordinated criminal scheme that diverted Pell grants, other federal aid and state subsidies through fraudulent reimbursements and illegal incentive payments.
Officials allege the scheme also contributed to the closure of Eastern Gateway Community College.
Perik faces a dozen charges, including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activities, aggravated theft of $1.5 million or more, theft in office, telecommunications fraud, bribery, having an unlawful interest in a public contract, receiving stolen property, and money laundering, the auditor’s office said.

And so it continues…….
Corruption has been everywhere for decades (at least). The uniparty flourishes and laughs while the people suffer and the nation falls.
“...according to Ohio state officials.”
Not enough graft available in Rhode Island anymore?
Well what do you expect?
Evil orange man shut down USAID...they gotta get their graft somehow! 😂
“Fraud, fraud, everywhere a fraud”
Part of the ob-scenery, using AI Claude
Steal this. Then steal that. Can’t you see the fraud?
No wonder the Democrats hate Trump so much, his administration is going to slow down their fraud so much, they’ll actually have to get real jobs which pay so much less. I guess I’d hate him too, if I were one of them.
We are going to have to start hanging thieves.
Of course his wife...didn know nuffin!
“Steal this. Then steal that. Can’t you see the fraud?”
LOL! You caught the reference. Great completion of the “verse”.
Here is an article questioning some of the husband’s doing from five years ago.
“McKee’s Lt. Gov. Finalist Perik’s Husband Tied to Multi-Million Dollar Govt. Contract Controversy”
Just because my husband is a crook, that doesn’t affect my ability to do my job as Democrat Party Chair!
What a piker. He needs to take lessons from the Somalis to get the big bucks.
We wouldn't have to do it too many times, even for democrats, before it dawns on them that they should take their offshore accounts and retire to Rio de Janeiro.
Vice President JD Vance leads the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, a whole-of-government initiative launched by President Donald Trump in March 2026 to investigate, prosecute, and curb fraud across federal benefit and social-welfare programs.

I wonder how much AI is assisting the task force in finding fraud? In the past, it was tedious work to track down funds and where/how they move. With AI, I suspect monies can be tracked in a matter of days (or even hours) rather than weeks and months.
Typical DIMocRAT...sociopathic.
Propose MANDATORY MINIMUM 20 YEARS jail for any government fraud.
One year amnesty period for self reporting.
After that 10% reward for anyone that turns in a fraudster.
Parenthetically, the Pardridge Family always made me ill, except for Danny, because he was a similar age as I was at the time. Same reason I liked Dark Shadows, because of David.
“Just because my husband is a crook, that doesn’t affect my ability to do my job as Democrat Party Chair!”
On the contrary, he helps me fleece the big donors and make it look like an accounting error!
I agree with the minimum 20 year sentence. It needs to be painful when caught stealing from American citizens.
Here is some more info from today.
Treasury Department
@USTreasury
“Treasury Department @USTreasury Today, Treasury announced that @FinCENnews (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network)has identified approximately $270 million in suspicious financial activity potentially linked to fraud against federal student aid programs. FinCEN has referred these findings to federal investigators to pursue potential fraud schemes targeting federal student aid programs and help ensure those responsible are held accountable.
These referrals underscore the Trump Administration’s commitment to eliminating fraud, protecting taxpayers, and safeguarding the integrity of federal student aid programs.”

Why single him out? I am sure that every Democrat in Rhode Island has their hand in the till.
