Destroying ‘history’ is a commie trademark. China wants democrats to win so THEY can win... so they’re stirring the pot. Ignore this nothing burger story. Ignore the traitors who carry water for the Chinese.

Once again a case of 21st century democrats taking down statues of 19th century democrats put up by 20th century democrats. It would be amusing except for the Orwellian precedent it sets in rewriting or erasing history when it becomes inconvenient to the party’s agenda.

I do too. We need to remember our past ... the good the bad and the ugly.

In my hometown there was what was called Colored Town...it was literally on the other side of the railroad tracks. The houses were not painted and poor. However the people who lived there were proud and kept house, property clean.

Several yrs ago it was decided to tear down the Colored Town. They should have left one area for history sake. They did not. They tore it all down.

"You keep talking about the evils of slavery in the Confederacy. But where is the historical evidence of this Confederacy of which you speak? There is absolutely none around! I must conclude that if there is no historical evidence at all of a Confederacy, then there likely never was a Confederacy, so there must not have been any slavery either! So, any appeal to 'a legacy of slavery' is pure nonsense, and any call for reparations for slavery is also nonsense!"

This could happen in 20 years if the Democrats get their way on this matter...

Well, I’m a good ol rebel, that’s just what I am. Commies. We should just schedule a civil war every 100 yrs and settle things. Civil War history belongs to all of us. Stonewall Jackson was a great general.

Just by complete coincidence I was in Brandenburg Ky yesterday and noticed a monument I’d not (recalled) seen before. It looked oddly familiar. so wife and I walked up and read/inspect it.

It was a monument to confederate dead and was once placed in Louisville Ky near the UL campus. In 2016 the statue was removed after good old Black Lives Matter protests in Louisville. They were going to DESTROY it but daughters of the confederacy paid for it to be moved.

I’m originally from Liberalville…ahhh I meant Louisville. So I had seen it often as a child.

I’m not pro-slavery but think erasing history is a bit 1984ish to me.

At least the actions of these politicians are consistent with the equally disingenuous behavior of those in the 19th century. Congress never sought strategies to separate individual liberties in states’ rights from the disgrace of slavery. Instead, they engaged in all the vices, follies and infirmities expected of a political class. They implemented policies accommodating trade, fisheries, agriculture, transportation, and mines, while ignoring the rising infallibility and intransigence of abolitionists and planters.

This dereliction of duty allowed fire-eating miscreants of both factions to stumble us into civil war in April 1861. Maybe one in fifteen would defend slavery, but all opposed any faction using the federal government to impose its will on individuals by armed conquest. This bloodiest of all our conflicts determined a political destination, but without resort to reason, contemplation, or mutual understanding. The United States lost the Civil War and much of the destiny envisioned by our Founding Fathers remains unrealized.

Flags on graves and monuments North and South testify to the sincerity and suffering of those Americans who endured the catastrophe of this needless struggle. Politicians ignored the rising influence of the infallibility and intransigence of abolitionists and planters, whose myopic ideologies forced the establishment of armies that through the application of power resolved these issues, but without resort to reason, contemplation, or mutual understanding.

Whether referenced in statutes as Civil War (Union and Confederate), Spanish-American, WW I, WW II, Korean, Vietnam, or Desert Storm veterans, all are also brothers in arms for whom the term American Veteran applies. General Joshua Chamberlain resolved this designation at Appomattox. It was then seconded by General Ulysses Grant in his confrontation with President Andrew Johnson. Since that time veterans have voted to affirm Chamberlain’s resolve.

The final objective is to replace our Republic with Cultural Marxism. The process is well underway.

ALL those confederate statues were put up by democrats.

I lived in the Jim Crow South and it was solid democrat. The KKK was a democrat organization as was the White Citizen's Council. Sen. Byrd was a lifetime democrat and a KKK member. LBJ was rumored to be a KKK member before he was elected as a democrat President.

Secession is the ultimate FU to centralized power. The lefties must erase that history even if the attempt failed. It can’t be considered. It never happened.
