As wildfires blazed in southern Italy this week, authorities probing for arson found a grisly clue: cats “with flammable-soaked rags tied to their tails.”
“These animals were released into the fields, running around and spreading the fire,” said Domenico Costarella of Calabria’s Civil Protection Agency in a video posted on Facebook on Tuesday. He added that other pieces of evidence also pointed to arson, including candles lit among flammable rags and delayed ignition devices.
Firefighters are still working to contain blazes around Calabria’s Pollino National Park, according to Italian broadcaster RAI, which reported Wednesday that firefighting teams have completed more than 160 missions within Calabria in the past 24 hours.
According to CNN’s Italian affiliate SkyTG24, the Italian Association for the Defense of Animals and the Environment has filed a criminal complaint and offered a €1,000 reward for information on who may have set the cats alight. …

Sick minds, sick thoughts.
Seems to echo (or mock) what Samson did to the cornfields of the Philistines in Judges 15:4-5, although he used 300 of some kind of wild canine (the translation of Hebrew “shu’al” varies between “jackal” and “fox”).
Many of these big fires from California to Canada and Europe are being deliberately set.
Not enough is said about this obvious terrorism.

I just heard a report that “over 90 percent” of them are “caused by humans”; of course, nothing is said about accidental versus deliberate, which heavily implies deliberate.
On top of that, before that was revealed, the media over there were crowing about the “climate crisis”.
I remember once reading about doing this once “The old handbook for psychopaths” except foxes were used instead of cats.
And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.
And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.

Ive read about techniques like this being used by various others too. We tied little incendiary to bats not that long ago.
