Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett opened up Tuesday about the chilling moment she had to explain to her son why she had to wear a bulletproof vest following the leak of the opinion that overturned Roe v. Wade.
Barrett, a mother of seven, told lawmakers on a House Appropriations subcommittee that her security detail told her to wear extra protection on her commute home after a draft of Justice Samuel Alito’s opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was published by Politico in May 2022.
“I carried it into my house, put it into my bedroom, dropped it down on a table, turned around, and my 12-year-old son was standing in the doorway of my bedroom, and he wanted to know what it was and why I had it,” Barrett recounted.

Poor Amy. Must suck to have both sides hating you.
Amy should learn to stop voting for positions that empower the political side that would like to kill her.
She has one of the most important jobs in the world, but she doesn’t know how to explain it to her 12 year-old son? So she’s never talked to her kids about security, risks, etc.? As a mom of 3 boys, I find this incomprehensible.
ACB very often sides with the left, i.e., those who swat.
She should have explained to her son why she voted to allow birth right citizenship to the children of illegal aliens, thereby destroying a country that her son and other children were supposed to inherit one day.

Tell us the leaker and we will listen to what you have to say, because this court seems to want to have everything both ways.
I don’t feel one bit sorry for her. I do feel sorry for her kid having a mom who seems to make decisions based on feelings.
Don’t worry my boy, I have learned my lesson and will soon “grow” in my legal view. I will get on appeasing the Left and, hopefully, they will stop threatening me.
(Hence why this should be the LAST soccer Mom to ever serve on the Court).
Maybe she should step down and go back into private life!!!!
She had no business letting him see it.
There are things children should not see and this is an example.
I worry that the job might be too much for her. If that’s the case then she should step down for the good of her family.

Amy Coney Barrett’s record tells a troubling story.
Before Dobbs, she voted with the conservative position in 81% of non-unanimous cases. Since then, that number has dropped sharply into the 50–60% range in subsequent terms — including on major cases involving birthright citizenship, election procedures, and administrative power, where she has sided with Chief Justice Roberts and the liberals.
President Trump should thank her for her service especially the Dobbs decision which was huge. And encourage her to retire. So she can focus on her family and teach law somewhere.
Tell him, “Democrats.”
She thinks SHE has it rough! I have to pay for my own body armor, both ways in snow storms and bare feet!
