The Legal Machine Behind Oregon’s Open Borders Rebellion—And Why Your State Should Pay Attention
Restoration News ^ | 5/6/26 | C.K. Bouferrache

Oregon did not build its immigration enforcement resistance network by accident. Behind the legislation, activism and protests, and sympathetic press coverage, is a coordinated network of legal non-profit organizations—some Oregon-grown, some parachuted in from out of state—working systematically to dismantle federal immigration enforcement using tax dollars, foundation money, and their own brazen confidence that nobody is watching. They are not satisfied with just the deep-blue sanctuary state of Oregon—-they are just getting started on the rest of the country.

What follows is not speculation, but what they have broadcast themselves.

Start with Innovation Law Lab. Founded in Portland in 2014 by attorney Stephen Manning, Innovation describes itself as “equal parts lawyer, coder, and organizer.” That framing is surprisingly more honest than most activist organizations manage. They are not primarily a legal services provider. They are an infrastructure builder — and Oregon is their flagship project.

Manning and his organization were present at every turning point in the construction of Oregon’s deportation defense system. Innovation Law Lab helped launch Oregon Worker Relief in 2020, the COVID cash distribution network that became the financial foundation for everything that followed.

[snip]

They designed what they call “Massive Collaborative Representation”—a technology-driven model that allows groups of lawyers to represent hundreds of people at once, specifically built to overwhelm immigration courts with volume—and that model now powers the Equity Corps of Oregon. They lobbied Senate Bill-1543 into existence, and in August 2022 they won the state contract to run the ECO clearinghouse, the central nervous system of the program they designed and advocated for.

Oregon’s Department of Justice, led by radical Attorney General Dan Rayfield(D), makes their role plain on the state’s official immigration resources page. The DOJ credits Innovation Law Lab by name with authoring both Oregon’s sanctuary law and the universal representation program.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

This is a pretty interesting article by independent journalist Chelly Bouferrache aka "Honeybadgermom" who covers protests, riots, and violence in Oregon.

Good information, yes. But the question is how do we destroy it?

Excellent question. I don’t know. Stop funding with tax dollars helps (thank you President Trump) but they have so much money from Soros and other communist leftists it may not make much difference. A group willing to go extreme lawfare on them would be needed. They’d need to search every obscure federal, state, and local law to find violations to stop them at every turn.

This is essentially no different from the general war that Portland and Eugene OR have waged against law enforcement in general (mirroring the precedent set in San Francisco CA and Seattle WA) - kneecapping law enforcement with liberal district attorneys and judges that are beholden to left-wing agitators rather than to the law. A legal system that gives violent criminals a slap on the wrist or lets junkies squat in city parks is bound to be equally lenient with illegal immigrants.

We don’t. If that is what Oregon wants then why interfere with its destruction. Just hope a better government rises from the ashes. No doubt parts of the state will seek to secede pretty darn soon.

I’m stuck in this fetid state until mum reaches the ‘other side.’ I can’t wait to get back to Idaho.

There are already large parts of Oregon that would like to join Idaho, but you think the Libs are going to give up their tax base and census counts?

Most of Oregon does not want the thieving demoncrats in control and stealing us blind. Most of us are past being fed up.
Prices are up because illegals have loads of money to spend driving up prices.
They drive brand new cars, get placed at in new housing and get an average of 20,000 a MONTH from the government!
Illegal aliens have more money to spend than anybody else!
There may be a civil war here because of it.

Lord Haw-haw claimed he couldn't be committing treason because he wasn't a citizen of the UK.

They hanged him anyway on 3 January 1946. Same old situation here eighty years later. Same old cure.

Find the hidden agenda and prosecute for tax evasion. A good many leftist gambits are funded in the name of making money in real estate, for example, (particularly in California), or limiting access to resources to induce artificial scarcity (particularly in California).
