The Morning Briefing: Here's an Idea — Let's Just Redistrict Democrats Out of the U.S.
PJ Media ^ | 8 May 2026 | Sarah Anderson

While I was combing over the news of the day, trying to decide what to write about, I kept running into two recurring themes: redistricting drama and Democrats doing and saying ridiculously dumb stuff. That's when a thought occurred to me... instead of redistricting each individual state, let's just come together as a nation and redistrict all Democrat politicians right on out into the Pacific. Or up to Canada, since I guess leaving them in the ocean would be cruel. Then again, so is sending someone to Canada.

Of course, that's not going to happen, but I do want to provide you with a list of some of the dumb things Democrats have done or said in just the last 48 hours or so. Keep in mind that it's not a comprehensive list — it'd take me at least five days just to compile two days of Democrat idiocy, and ain't nobody got time for that.

Exhibit A: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Ilana Glazer's Podcast

I could spend an entire month on the dumb things AOC says alone. We already know she's not the brightest bulb. Remember back in February how she said Venezuela was below the equator (it's not) and that cowboys originated with African slaves and Mexicans (they originated in Spain)? Well, she's continuing her journey through her revisionist — or just plain ignorant and/or illiterate — history this week by claiming that black Americans created democracy in this country. While black Americans have made great contributions to this country, it was the Founding Fathers who created American democracy. Sure, Thomas Jefferson may have had some black kids, but I'm pretty sure he and the rest of the men who brought us democracy were white. Could you imagine this woman teaching your child's history class?

My suggestion:

The Income Tax Free & Property Tax Free Country Act of 2026

Each state government shall be entitled to create new countries. The territory of each country shall be such that navigation to an ocean or the Gulf of Mexico is possible.

Each such country shall given a constitution, which shall provide, in perpetuity, that it shall be forever revenue limited to motor fuel and personal property sales taxation.

These new countries and their citizens shall be legally independent of all existing domestic governments and courts.

Each such country shall be deemed to have a treaty with the United States, which shall, in perpetuity:
1. ensure each American citizen who becomes a citizen and permanent resident of such a country shall not suffer a revenue imposition from any government of the United States,
2. ensure that country shall have free civilian navigation to and from international waters, and
3. bar the placement of foreign military means within the physical bounds of the country.

That can be done by majority vote.

Here's an Idea — Let's Just Redistrict Democrats Out of the U.S.

Won't happen.

But, let's just dump the idea of districts altogether. Let the 'districts' be the counties. Let the counties be weighted depending on the number of people in each county. If a county contains 1% of the state's population, that 1% would represent the 'electoral' count of that county for the state; if another county contains 20%, that percentage would equal the electoral count for the state. If a county's votes end up majority red (or blue), that's the electoral count that goes to the winning party.

Gerrymandering is not about representing the general population equitably. It's about representing the wishes of the party in power, which would not be representative ofthe population at large.

My idea may have faults, but gerrymandering needs to be ousted from the political landscape.

Unfortunately, they would rename & repackage as themselves the “islamic progressive party” or some such thing. Just like the morons did with global warming. Same thing just a new name called “climate change”.

If they hadn’t opened the borders and demanded the federal courts give them congressional representations as non citizens, they wouldn’t be in this mess of their own making.

I like the idea except for one thing....I think we need at least a two party system & we do have other parties, but none have ever made much of an inroad in this country.

You are all assuming that a generic Republican will win in all the new “red” districts.
