We’re four months into Abigail Spanberger’s tenure as governor of Virginia, and things couldn’t be worse for Democrats’ rising star.
There’s a civil war in the party apparatus. The referendum to redraw the maps from a 6:5 Dem advantage to a 10:1 Dem advantage, thus giving the party an almost certain majority in the House, seems doomed to fail judicial review. Privately, the parties involved have been sniping each other.
It’s beginning to leak into the press.

Bullied into going along with an illegal gerrymandering tells me that they are willing to take big risks out of desperation.
They knew it would likely be shot down but had to try anyway.
The democrats see this mid-term elections as an absolute MUST win, and in my opinion it is because they feel like they are about to lose on two related fronts: The slow reversal of the importation of (illegal) voters, and the changes in voting standards at the State level as well as potentially nationally.
The Democrat Party is kept alive by two things—the abortion issue and Trump hatred. Trump can’t run again so in 2028 that will be replaced by hatred of whomever the Republican nominee is...that is, unless the Democrats finally succeed in killing Trump, in which case it will become Vance hatred before 2028. I don’t think the assassination attempts will stop. The most recent one did not even cause a momentary pause in the Democrats’ incendiary rhetoric.

Didn't the Slave Party try this same stunt before? After Bob McDonnell or Youngkin, versus McCauliffe or Northam, why did it flip for another lying Slave Party hack?
Do you think that once Trump fires enough bureaucrats or moves their agency offices to some blue State that deserves them, this situation might stabilize?
The current leadership of Dems are kept alive by fraud (dark money) and voter fraud. If elections were fair and the fraud was eliminated, the Dem politicians would genuinely have to compete. In that event they would have to pull right.

I don’t believe that for one second. Spanberger is simply trying to lay the groundwork to employ a “Shaggy defense” (‘it wasn’t me’) in case it goes down in flames… which is a good possibility,
