Video Transcript and Summary
Summary of the video/transcript:This is an on-the-ground investigative-style video by a conservative-leaning content creator (likely Angela Rose or similar) visiting 326 Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis' Cedar-Riverside neighborhood (a heavily Somali/East African area). The creator accuses Rep. Ilhan Omar of attempting to direct $1.46 million (later reduced to $1.03 million) in federal taxpayer funds via a DOJ earmark to Generation Hope MN, a nonprofit described as a substance abuse/addiction recovery clinic for the East African community.
Main allegations:
- The listed address (326 Cedar Ave) is primarily a Sagal Restaurant (Somali food: rice, meat, goat kidneys/liver, etc.), not a medical or treatment facility. No visible signs of addiction counseling, therapy rooms, or clinical services — just dining tables, a kitchen, and some community posters.
- Staff (including a new employee and the brother of an owner) explicitly state no substance abuse clinic has ever operated there.
- The building has a history of one main restaurant from 1983–2020; afterward, multiple entities (Cedarside/Riverside Community Council — CRCC, Sahal/Sagal-related services, Crossroads Health Services) started listing the address with varying "suites" (e.g., Suite 6, Suite A, Unit 100), which the creator calls suspicious and potentially a way to obscure operations for funding.
- CRCC and related groups have received hundreds of thousands to millions in prior government contracts (safety outreach, sexual assault support, workforce development, ICE response funds, etc.).
- The restaurant owners (three people sharing the same home address per IRS filings) and some linked businesses show patterns the creator ties to broader Minnesota fraud issues, like the massive Feeding Our Future scandal (hundreds of millions in COVID meal fraud involving Somali community organizations and restaurants).
- Generation Hope later updated its address to 1128 Harmon Place, Suite 302 (downtown office space). The creator visits on a Sunday, finds the building closed but gets confirmation from security/design studio staff that people come/go during the week. He notes it's culturally specific to East Africans and questions transparency.
Additional points raised:- Ilhan Omar's recent financial disclosure drama: Her reported net worth swung wildly ($6M–$30M down to $18K–$95K), which she blamed on an "accounting error" and lack of involvement in her husband Tim Mynett's businesses. The creator implies possible connections to questionable funding flows.
- Broader commentary: Heavy presence of pro-Palestine activism/protests right outside, Somali cultural flags over American ones, "no ICE/CBP" signs, demographic changes in the area, and criticism of taxpayer-funded NGOs, rent relief, and "front" businesses.
- The creator eats at the restaurant (rice/meat/coffee), films interactions (some staff become camera-shy when Ilhan Omar's name is mentioned), and frames it as exposing potential fraud/waste while highlighting real addiction needs that may not be served.
Context and outcomes:This earmark drew significant backlash in early 2026. Republicans (including Sen. Joni Ernst) flagged it as full of "red flags" amid Minnesota's ongoing fraud scandals, leading to efforts to strip or block the funding. Generation Hope describes itself as a legitimate youth-led, culturally specific recovery organization helping with stigma, mental health, and substance use in the East African community — with offices at both addresses. However, critics highlight the restaurant tie, shared home addresses among directors, and multiple "suites" as suspicious, especially given patterns in the Feeding Our Future case.Tone: Highly skeptical and accusatory toward Omar, local nonprofits, and what the creator sees as a network of questionable government-funded entities in the Somali community. It mixes food vlog elements, street interviews, and on-site "gotcha" footage with calls for accountability and free speech (against proposed restrictions on filming in public).
In short: The video argues that Omar tried to funnel ~$1M to what appears to be a restaurant (or loosely affiliated office space) misrepresented as a drug treatment clinic, part of a larger pattern of waste/fraud in the area. Generation Hope maintains it's a real nonprofit that has since clarified/expanded its location. The story went viral in conservative circles as another example of earmark abuse tied to Omar.

what appears to be a restaurant (or loosely affiliated office space) misrepresented as a drug treatment clinic Some of the old 60s dives had so much dope being passed around that someone could have mistaken them for drug clinics.
“We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.” ― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream.

Ever try the goat kidneys/liver? You'll get hooked. I've' never tried that, but you can probably get those items over at the Harvest Fresh supermarket on Brookhurst & Katella in Garden Grove.
The Curry Hut, a Subcontinental eatery in Fullerton serves delicious goat curry.

Yeah, she’s been exposed. She’s a criminal. Stop broadcasting it and do something. None of these pigs are ever held accountable for their crimes.

I’ve always thought Alton Brown’s Food Network haggis recipe was a riot. Here’s part of it. I refer to the very end of the last sentence:
…In a large bowl, combine the minced liver, heart, tongue, suet, onions, and toasted oats. Season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs. Moisten with some of the cooking water so the mixture binds. Remove the stomach from the cold salted water and fill 2/3 with the mixture. Sew or tie the stomach closed. Use a turning fork to pierce the stomach several times. This will prevent the haggis from bursting.
In a large pot of boiling water, gently place the filled stomach, being careful not to splash. Cook over high heat for 3 hours.
Serve with mashed potatoes, if you serve it at all.
