The U.S. military, which has been responding to Iran’s loitering drone attacks, has finally adopted Ukraine’s air defense technology. As low-cost drones continued to damage high-value military assets, it is interpreted that the U.S. has deployed Ukraine’s combat-proven response system at key Middle Eastern bases.
On the 22nd, Reuters reported, citing multiple sources, that the U.S. has deployed Ukraine’s command and control platform at Prince Sultan Airbase in Saudi Arabia, a key military asset in the Middle East, to defend against Iranian drones.

Ukrainian military officers are reported to have visited the base over recent weeks to train U.S. forces on detecting Iranian drone attacks and launching intercept drones. The system, called ‘Sky Map,’ is a platform that encapsulates Ukraine’s combat experience of repelling Russian attacks using Iranian-made loitering drones for over four years.
Ukraine has identified the locations of Iranian-made loitering drones using over 10,000 acoustic sensors installed on mobile phone base stations and rooftops of buildings. The sound of the Shahed drones, similar to that of a lawnmower, is identified as a loitering drone through AI, and combined with radar information to analyze their paths and expected strike points. Sky Map displays these analysis results on a digital map, allowing nearby interception units to respond and shoot them down with machine gun fire.
The U.S. military’s adoption of Ukraine’s air defense technology stems from the judgment that its high-value military assets have been repeatedly damaged by Iran’s low-cost drones…

This is common practice in high crime cities too. Also on rooftops and street light poles.
The sensors are networked together and the AI software uses the time of arrival to do multilateral triangulation. What sounds are they georef?....

Its accurate to the street corner with three or more sensors in place that get the sound wave.
It’s a simple upgrade to load new sound profiles to look for such as drone prop spectral peaks. The advantage of using 4/5G towers is they already have the realtime high speed data backbone and more importantly the PNT source from atomic clocks aboard GPS birds sending them the PNT signals down to the nanosecond. Time of arrival is critical to the working of a multilat system.
Hopefully the Ukes sent the Wild Hornet interceptor drones too. Those can down jet powered Shaheds

I doubt Ukrainians developed the technology on their own. They are too busy figuring out ways to steal the money we send them. More than likely, the US developed the technology and tested it in Ukraine.
It says a ton about our "education" and defense management systems that we didn't already have this developed, tested, and in place with trained operators.
