Everywhere you look in American politics, you’ll see two things.
First are polls, predictions, and posturing around the concept that MAGA is finished, the Democrats are ascendant, and the midterm elections will be an absolute wipeout.
And second are concrete examples showing that the Democrat Party is a collection of unmitigated angry, malignant clowns.
I’m going to trust that I don’t have to take the reader through the endless litany of examples of the first contention. You’ve surely seen enough of that. Rather, I’ll focus on the second. And then take some time to relate it to the first.
And I’ll start with the best example of how utterly disqualified the American Left is to hold power over their fellow man. Which isn’t the Code Pink “convoy” that set up shop at a five-star hotel in Cuba over the weekend, delivering three tons of “humanitarian aid” (delivered to the same government that has immiserated the people needing that aid for 67 years and almost certainly confiscated and profiteered off it over the weekend) before holding a decadent party and a rap concert by an Irish group regaling the crowd of aging Trader Joe’s patrons with shouts of “F**k ICE” and “Free Palestine!”
Melissa and I did a Spectacle Podcast segment on that which you should check out. I enjoyed that discussion more than she did.
No, while the Code Pink fiasco was a very good example of why banishing these people to the fringe of American politics is crucial to national survival, it wasn’t the best.
The best — worst, perhaps, in moral terms, comes from Chicago.

The issue isn’t that the public agrees with the Democrats. The Democrat Party is about as popular as shingles or anal warts with most Americans.
The issue is that Republican voters are demoralized and checked out (the latter is a fairly normal phenomenon; Republican voters pay attention to elections when it’s time to, while the Left treats politics as their religion and won’t stop taking the sacraments). But Democrats are stirred up like their anthill has been kicked over.
And the crazier and more offensive their leaders get, the more fired up they are.
Trump’s statements on Iran and other things don’t have that effect on his own voters. They’re more of a mixed bag, and they generally aren’t intended for domestic political consumption. For example, on Iran he’s taking on the position of strategic instability, making himself enigmatic as a means of building negotiating leverage. That’s a long-standing pattern with him, and it often flies in the face of political expediency.
And we’re more than half a year away from the midterms, so nothing Trump says really matters right now.
Except if the GOP can’t rack up wins while in power, it won’t matter what Trump says later, either.
And there aren’t many — any — wins to brag about right now.
That’s what’s creating the perception that the midterms will be a disaster, even though the Democrats are the true disaster.
There is time to fix this. The problem is a palpable lack of an inclination to do so. And that’s the real fiasco facing the country.
They don’t have to be popular because their voters will show up in November.
November is going to hit us like a laundry fire on an aircraft carrier unless we come up with a solution.
Remember the wide open Southern Border? You don’t hear anything about border crossings anymore.
We have too many Veruca Salts around.
If Thune keeps dragging his feet on bringing the SAVE act to a vote & if he can’t keep the Republican senators in line to pass it, then common sense would indicate that Thune & the rest of his party are compromised & can’t win elections honestly. That means they’re no better than the demoncrats & they need to be replaced!
I agree about Thune. Remember how he got where he is? Lost the US Senate election to a sitting Senator from South Dakota in 2002. I thought he was history then - but he rebounded and then beat Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle afterwards. He ascended in the “rank” of GOP Senators, and when McConnell stepped aside he ran for the position he now holds against Rick Scott and John Cornyn. Scott got little traction as a conservative (at least more than Thune or Cornyn). He talked Cornyn into ceasing opposition, and the coalescing of his supporters and that of Cornyn’s assured victory. He has done little notable in the position. Along with Cornyn he and his ilk should be retired at the ballot box.
Just a small history lesson about the loser, and games player he is.

What happened to the promised MASS deporations Trump promised ?
No new wars was another promise , broken .
“No new wars was another promise , broken .”
He never said that. He said NO FOREVER wars.
Do you really think that if we were brutally attacked on American soil by China or similar, Trump would just go to the golf course and say, “Well, I DID say ‘no new wars’, so I’m not going to fight back”?
The GOP is done if it doesn’t pass the SAVE ACT and end the filibuster. Ending the filibuster will be the first thing the RATS do when they take over.
President Trump said no new wars:
“You know, we had no wars. Four years, we had no wars except we defeated ISIS. We defeated ISIS in record time, but we had no wars. They said, ‘He will start a war.’ I’m not going to start a war, I’m going to stop wars.”
https://www.nbcmiami.com/decision-2024/donald-trump-victory-speech-presidential-election/3466001/
Those are President Trumps remarks the night he won reelection in 2024.
Obviously no one can predict the future. But there it is.
I hope his newly minted neocon admirers are there for him when the Democrats take the House and impeach him.
No matter how the newly minted MAGA Catturd/Mark Levin constituency spin it, Trump lied. He betrayed a core promise he made as as a candidate.
And while Mark Levin and the other NeoCon shitbirds have trotted out that talking point to defend Trump, few outside Catturdistan actually buy it
As one poster noted above, if there was an invasion of the US, no one could reasonably hold President Trump to what he said.
What this will turn on will be how does starting a war with Iran square with what what was said last June:
“We devastated the Iranian nuclear program. But it’s worth noting the operation did not target Iranian troops or the Iranian people. For the entirety of his time in office, President Trump has consistently stated, for over 10 years, that Iran must not get a nuclear weapon, full stop. Thanks to President Trump’s bold and visionary leadership and his commitment to peace through strength, Iran’s nuclear ambitions have been obliterated.”
SECWAR / SECDEF Hegseth.
Rush Limbaugh had a great saying - “Words mean things”. In the example above, the wording is clear and unambiguous about Iran’s nuclear program.
“No new wars was another promise , broken .”
>>He never said that. He said NO FOREVER wars.
Yes he did . He also promised to launch the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history”. Another broken promise . He was going to end the Ukraine War on Day 1 - remember that ?
The deportation is not only launched but well underway.
The actions currently blocking the Senate and the functioning of the government are the direct results of the success of the deportation efforts.
Give me a break . Trump Ad. says 2 million have “ self deported “ but who knows how true that is . Many claim it is BS . Between DHS and ICE approx. 1 million have been deported . You call that a success ? Was Minnesota a success ?
P/M Netanyahu seeks to avoid an Israeli vote
Because the Iran war gives him no boost in polls
The Straits Times ^ | Mar 25, 2026
A Times of Israel poll on March 19 showed Mr Netanyahu’s Likud party would likely
win a puny 28 of the Knesset seats, down from the present 34, falling short of a majority.
Mr Netanyahu had assured Trump “Mossad said” Iranians would throw out their rulers. Now reversing himself, Netanyahu has acknowledged there was “no certainty” Iranians would overthrow their rulers.
As the war nears a fifth week, on which Netanyahu apparently built his winning reelection prospects, a war win now appears remote. Netanyahu’s only strategy is to “buy time.”
So what is Netanyahu telling Trump now?
Sure hope Mossad does not have “another” brainstorm.
