The U.S. and its allies have intensified the battle to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, sending low-flying attack jets over the sea lanes to blast Iranian naval vessels and Apache helicopters to shoot down Iran’s deadly drones, American military officials said.
The stepped-up operation is part of a multistage Pentagon plan to reduce the danger from Iranian armed boats, mines and cruise missiles, which have halted ship traffic through the waterway since early March. If the danger can be reduced, the U.S. could send U.S. warships through the strait and eventually escort vessels in and out of the Persian Gulf.
But it will still likely take weeks for the U.S. to clear out Iran’s web of assets that have harassed traffic through a chokepoint for 20% of the world’s oil exports and a large amount of commercial shipping traffic. The strait’s effective closure has sent oil prices soaring above $100 a barrel—briefly touching $119 before closing at $108.65, up 1.18%, on Thursday—and forced the Trump administration to grapple with the economic implications of the war it launched alongside Israel on Feb. 28.
Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, revealed the operation in a Pentagon news conference Thursday, saying heavily-armed A-10 warplanes, known as the Warthog, along with Apache attack helicopters, were flying missions over the strait or off the southern coast of Iran.

Why is the media speculating?? That’s not their job. Just report the news...stop acting like you know something that you can draw conclusions from.
What a difference one man in charge makes.
Good luck to all of you during this endeavor
This mission is historic, regardless of the outcome.
I thought we took out their naval vessels
The Marines will eventually be there. Too bad it will take a very long time. :(
Apparently this was an exaggerated claim made by Trump. He shouldn’t have said that.
Reconnaissance by drones, airplanes, satellites + AI analysis can defeat the multi-headed hydra that Iran has for attacking shipping in Hormus region. Great that Iran stashed most of its mines on Kharg island. This makes eliminating them easier.
Mine clearance will not start until 10 days when USS Tripoli arrives from Japan. Meanwhile we bomb all mine stash locations, so that new mines cannot be added to what Iran has placed out there.
This is your go to on how we will clear out Iranian mines >>>>

Forget the fly-swatting, "bomb the zhit" out of the operators' compounds!
That’s what is wrong with the legacy media. Reporting on things they know nothing about. Guess work pure a simple. With no one holding them accountable for misinformation they are spewing.
“Apparently this was an exaggerated claim made by Trump. He shouldn’t have said that.”
My mother told me a million times not to exaggerate.
Obviously an exaggeration...that needs to made a complete fact - the sooner, the better.
If they are going to engage in economic terrorism, not a single vessel in their navy should remain afloat, nor a single missile launcher remain in anything other than in pieces.
The Iranians have those little fast boats they use to swarm ships and I think lay mines.
Ships and larger vessels. They are using the A10s to loiter and scan for fast speed boats that are jumping out into the Strait to attack transports.
We took out their blue water navy (their battleships, destroyers, subs and what passes for aircraft carriers in the Iranian navy)
The threat being addressed now is their fleet of small attack boats similar to the Venezuelan drug boats we blew out of the water. These boats are easy to destroy but they are numerous. They pose no missile threat but nevertheless can be used to lay mines and launch small attack air and sea drones against oil tankers, not enough to destroy them but enough to cripple them and prevent the transit lanes through the strait from opening up. They have no ability to project force beyond Hormuz but need to be neutralized in order to reopen the strait.
Great video.
Thank you for posting!!!!

“Fast boats” can’t outrun a slow A-10 that goes up to 420 miles per hour.
Liars, oil is at $93.22 currently.

Those little boats are called A-10 Warthog appetizers...
Absolutely cannot do it. 😉
