WASHINGTON (7News) — A van drove through a security barricade near the White House on Wednesday morning, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and U.S. Secret Service (USSS).
Around 6:37 a.m., D.C. police officers responded to the vicinity of the White House to assist Secret Service after the van drove through the temporary security barrier in the area of Madison and H Streets, Northwest.
Authorities confirmed there were no injuries, and the driver was apprehended. The person is currently being questioned and criminal charges are pending, USSS said.

Bad writing. Madison Street is about a mile north. The Madison & H intersection near the WH is Madison PLACE. It's an alternate street name for the one-block long, two-lane east border of Lafayette Square.
Going north of there it becomess a wide main artery, 15th Street NW. Going south of Lafayette Square, it crosses Pennsylvania Avenue and enters the White House grounds proper, and is called Executive Avenue. It remains two-lane, and is on the side where the new ballroom will be.
