A Wisconsin man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday after he pleaded guilty to killing his parents in order to fund a plot to assassinate President Trump involving a drone with explosives or an AR-15 assault rifle.
Nikita Casap, 18, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in Waukesha County Circuit Court in January. He and prosecutors struck a deal to drop seven other charges that included two counts of hiding a corpse and theft.

The plot to assassinate Trump developed in late 2024, when he thought of using an AK-47 rifle attached to a drone, she continued. He later thought of having a drone drop explosives on Trump, before planning to hide in Ukraine for a decade. Casap told investigators that he had not cared how many other people died in the attempt on Trump’s life.

The criminal complaint stated that Casap shot Mayer and his mother on or around Feb. 11, 2025. He lived with their decomposing bodies for weeks before he went across the country with with $14,000 in cash, jewelry, his stepfather’s gun and passports. Authorities arrested him Feb. 28, 2025, during a traffic stop in Kansas.
