Based on police reports from early 2026, McLemore’s assault victim, Nyesha A. Hill, alleged that she witnessed Clyde McLemore, the founder of the Black Lives Matter Lake County chapter in Illinois, misusing funds.
In January 2026, Hill, who served as a project manager for the local chapter, told police that she saw McLemore spend money allocated for Black Lives Matter on personal items, including gambling and “girls”.
Hill confronted McLemore over these allegations and unpaid wages, leading to a physical altercation on January 12, 2026, at the Black Lives Matter Resource Center in Waukegan, Illinois.
Both Hill and McLemore had minor injuries and accused each other of initiating the physical fight, leading police to decline arrests at the time due to conflicting accounts. Police confirmed a surveillance video captured a separate, previous physical fight between the two, also stemming from a money dispute.
These allegations are specific to the BLM Lake County chapter in Illinois and are part of a broader, separate trend of scrutiny regarding the management of local and national BLM funds, including a federal DOJ investigation into other leaders. Lake and McHenry County Scanner

That’s the one thing about grifters. They have a tendency to lie and steal and cheat in everything they do and with everyone they come into contact with.
The tragic irony is that many of these figures could have lived comfortably within legal bounds, but the compulsion to deceive is so central to their identity that legitimacy is repugnant to them. The grift isn’t just what they doâit’s who they are.

The video of their fight is revelatory-——she’s one aggressive chick.
Is he? It looks like he is on the losing end of things at more than one stage of the fight - though not enough so to make him stop despite getting knocked to the ground.
From what I saw of the vid it is questionable who got the worse beating.
The sista got in some good licks herself.
