I posted this on the other thread, but I’m about two hours by car from El Paso.
Last night, at 6:30ish MST, the sky glowed red for a long time and there was a prolonged loud rumble that sounded like a cross between a diesel and a jet engine coming from the sky. Very loud. Thunder loud.
My first guess was long series of sonic booms, but it didn’t sound like that. Maybe a circling big jet like a C5. Or a bunch of turbine diesel generators like you’d see in a huge frack job (with a flare which would explain the red sky). But there’s no oil production between here and there.

If this isn’t related to a shoulder-fired missile threat from bad actors across the border in Mexico, this TFR certainly makes it look like one. MANPADs generally have very short range, on the order of about 5 miles or less, with a maximum altitude capability of around 12,500 feet or so (12,500’ is the stated max altitude for the Stinger). The distances from the border that are being restricted, combined with the altitude ceiling of the TFR, seem to align very closely with the capabilities of shoulder-fired missiles, plus a likely additional safety margin. That could also explain why they are restricting ALL types of aircraft from flying in these areas.
But if this is the explanation, there appears to be more than just missiles of concern: The TFR also makes VERY clear that any aircraft flying within these areas during this airspace closure will be intercepted and at the very least forced to land, with the crews interrogated. At the other end of the spectrum, it includes a warning that lethal force may be used against aircraft not complying. So there may also be a concern about the possibility of some kind of attack by unauthorized aircraft.
There was an article in the news on the number of alien abductions is up in Ohio. It seems to me the number went way up since the legalization of pot. (grin) Maybe their stargate is in El Paso.
Suggest we wait, I could throw out , captured by Russians, and sent to US to implicate Ukrainians, or aliens😎

Did the US military detect unusually high radiation over Juarez (presence of nuclear device) ?
Gov announced they would be dynamiting near Monte Christo Rey (El Paso) to build the Wall. But that would not result in so wide an area of air space closure. All over the map on this one.
Has to be Drug Cartel related.....El Paso is directly north of Ciudad Juárez, major Cartel hub.

BREAKING: A source briefed by FAA tells me the El Paso flight ban was driven by military operations from Biggs Army Air Field at Fort Bliss. The FAA acted after the Defense Department could not assure civilian flight safety.

An invasion of Mexico?
Yep, and if something like that were launched into U.S. airspace from Mexico, Trump should immediately invade Mexico, take appropriate Mexican territory permanently as a buffer, and absolutely annihilate the cartels in the region in the process. Nations have a right to take territory in defense when attacked, just as, incidentally, Israel did when they were attacked multiple times by hostile muslims. That’s how we got the fable of the “Palestinians.” They were just the Jordanians and Egyptians who were caught behind the lines when Israel counterattacked.
That would explain why the restrictions are only in place for 10 days.
