The "To Wong Foo" star has long advocated for progressive political causes and has been a consistent critic of President Donald Trump.
John Leguizamo has a brief but unambiguous message for his fans who support Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"If you follow ICE, unfollow me. Don't come to my shows and don't watch my movies," Leguizamo stated in a video shared to his Instagram on Wednesday.
Leguizamo is one among a chorus of famous voices rising against the federal immigration agency, which has been at the forefront of violent operations in Minneapolis.
Jimmy Kimmel, who has been one of President Donald Trump's primary targets since his brief, politically-charged removal from ABC back in September, called the agency "heartless" on Tuesday. Ice-T defended his decision to change the infamous 1992 song "Cop Killer" by his band Body Count to "ICE Killer" on Wednesday, saying, "I'm just protesting."
ICE has been controversial in some corners ever since its establishment in 2003 amid a massive overhaul of the government's national security apparatus in the wake of the September 11 attacks. But Trump's ramped-up instrumentalization of ICE, fueled by a more than 700 percent budget increase since he took office last January, has alienated even more Americans from the agency's increasingly brazen tactics.
In the wake of the fatal shootings of American citizens Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti by federal immigration officers during operations on the streets of Minneapolis, a recent YouGov poll shows that more Americans support abolishing ICE than those opposed. Nineteen percent of Republicans surveyed supported the move.
Leguizamo has been far ahead of the curve where criticism of ICE is concerned.
In August, the John Wick star slammed Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman actor Dean Cain as a "moron" after he revealed his intentions to enlist as a new ICE recruit.
"What kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer?" he shared in another Instagram video. "What a moron. Dean Cain, your pronouns are has/been."
Even before Trump's re-election, Leguizamo cautioned his fellow Latinos against voting for the former reality TV host, after a poll showed that 46 percent of surveyed Latinos said Trump would get their support over Joe Biden, primarily citing economic concerns.
"Well, here's what you can count on, though: No matter what Trump says about inflation, he doesn’t like us, and he doesn’t want us here," Leguizamo said.
