urkish officials temporarily closed down airspace over its capital of Ankara on Tuesday night after a business jet that carried Libya’s top military commander crashed near the city after he concluded an official visit to the country.
The plane carrying Chief of the General Staff of Libya’s armed forces Muhammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad and four others lost contact roughly 30 minutes after departing Esenboga International Airport, according to Fox News. The plane had transmitted an emergency landing notification near Haymana before it lost contact.
Turkish authorities closed Ankara’s airspace as a precaution after it lost contact with the plane and diverted multiple commercial flights away from Esenboga Airport. Al-Haddad's death was later confirmed by Turkish and Libyan officials.
The decision to close the airspace elevated the incident beyond a routine aviation accident, Fox News reported, because closing the airspace around a capital city is usually reserved for situations involving unresolved security risks.
The crash also occurred after Al-Haddad met with Turkish defense officials, including Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, to discuss ongoing military and security coordination between Turkey and Libya, Turkish media reported.
Other people killed in the crash include Libyan chief of staff of the land forces, the head of the military manufacturing authority, an adviser to the army chief, and a media office photographer.
No cause of the crash has been released so far, but search and rescue operations are underway.
Mossad?
Only the Shadow knows... or maybe Mossad
Unlucky!
I assume that Israel supports the Libyan National Army, a rival faction.
Reports suggest electrical failure, which would be a much more subtle and difficult kind of sabotage than just planting a bomb. Could just be an accident.

The Falcon 50-type business jet, with tail number 9H-DFJ, took off at 8.10 pm local time (1710 GMT) en route to Tripoli.
Any Intel on the plane folks can provide?
Article says 5 passengers on board with no reference to a pilot. We’re there other pilot and crew?
Wiki already has added it to its entry on the Falcon 50. 8 people were on board.
I don’t chock this up to any conspiracy.
Lybia is not listed as a plane owner on wiki. They may have been leasing it.
Last manufactured in 2008.
It is a business jet but it’s primary users are
Armee de l’Air
South African Air Force
Portuguese Air Force
Italian Air Force
As far back as the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, the quality of the Israeli aircraft maintenance crews was oft cited as an advantage the Israelis had over their enemies...
Al Haddad’s death is a big deal, and therefore suspicious as it occurred over Turkey. He was THE big impediment to Turkey’s grab for Greek offshore oil rights in the Mediterranean.
Poor maintenance most likely.............
As I started reading the headline, I pictured a turkey causing a flight delay; am clearly ready for Christmas dinner.

Sure but.... how does it benefit Israel?
