Last month’s mass shooting at a child’s birthday party in Stockton that left four people dead, 13 injured and more than 150 guests at the targeted event likely severely traumatized, should have been a rallying moment for California’s political leaders. In addition to calling for more gun control, elected leaders could have doubled down on support for crime victims — specifically by improving access to emergency financial assistance and trauma recovery services, as well as violence intervention programs. Available data shows these investment strategies to be effective in lowering crime rates.

WOW. So you mean giving out more welfare to “minority” ‘hoods reduces crime? Then public housing apartments must be the safest place on earth.

And what about the culture of some people? There are certain things we’re not allowed to talk about.
For example, in black ghetto culture, being “dissed” or disrespected, is a major offense. And the response to being dissed is often violent. But we seldom talk about that openly.
I know that gets discussed here on Free Republic, but in the larger society, it’s a taboo subject.
You can have all the gun control programs in the world, and all of the assistance programs of various kinds in the world, but how do you deal with someone who resorts to violence from minor provocation? Those programs will not deal with someone who is prone to violence.
It has no meaning. It’s nothing but the regular democrat blah, blah, blah blather. It provides cover for a high paying grifting “job.”
When has “intervention” prevented a crime?
