(The Center Square) - A Republican legislator behind California’s mid-decade redistricting lawsuit said the political consultant who drew the newly approved congressional districts isn’t showing up to defend them.
“He didn’t show up in the Elections Committee, he won’t show up in the Appropriations Committee, and now he won’t show up in court,” Assemblymember David Tangipa, R-Fresno, told The Center Square on Tuesday at the federal courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

OK, and what (other than nothing) is going to be done about it?
There is supposedly a lawsuit trying to get this to SCOTUS
No Republican constituencies allowed. They will not be allowed any demographic majority.
And that’s the way the commie cookie crumbles, folks.
Civil War II is not far off.
12 States have no democrat Congressional representatives, 8 states have no Republican representatives.
Seems like we’ve done more “constituency erasing” than they have.
The real problem is what Sen. Dirksen warned in 1964 about one-city rule.
How are you taking into consideration states like Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming with only one representative? Kind of hard to have representation of a minority party when there is only one rep.
And what of Idaho and Montana with two reps? Keep in mind that Idaho has less than 13% of the population registered as Democrats... which rounds down to 0%, not up to 50%.
Hard to compare these states to one like Massachusetts which has ten reps, all Democrats, with only 26% of the voters actually registered as Democrat. 8% are registered as Republican, which rounds up to 10%, not down to 0%. (65% aren’t registered to a party.)
Massachusetts like New Jersey has most voters registered as Independents. Let me tell you something and that is when New Jersey last redrew their districts with a map created by a democrat legislature, they made sure that there was at least one safe “Republican” district and two competitive districts. Republicans won all three and there is little if any talk even among Dems about redrawing the map again. Although to be honest, it looks like they have a good chance of winning two of those districts back in 2026.
As for Massachusetts, Congressional districts 1, 2 & 4 have big Republican areas that remain intact but the areas for the most part are very rural and Republicans can’t even win there. Those districts were drawn pretty fairly.
We have dozens of commie controlled cities that nullify federal law, but insist on taking federal funds with the help of federal district court judges.
They must have their federal funding revoked so that their voter base starves and revolts against these commies.Let it be their insurrection.
