The study was conducted using a labor simulation tool called the Iceberg Index, which was created by MIT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The index simulates how 151 million U.S. workers interact across the country and how they are affected by AI and corresponding policy.

And the main group that will be missing out of that list? Why, MIT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory persons. Who’da thunk!

I would love to see AI replace judges. Let a human “double-check” the AI judge and if the human can make a legitimate case that the AI screwed up the law or showed bias, then have a re-trial. But most of the time, I think things should be pretty straight-forward.

I trust AI more than human judges.

At this point, the ‘A’ in AI stands for ‘Almost’.

And guess what?

At $38T in debt and about $2T deficits, this will erase about 12% of income tax revenue. Just what we needed?

And no, don’t leap up and declare why don’t we cut spending?!?!?

The BBB is in place for 10 years. It doesn’t do that. The GOP did not want to do that. President Trump did not want to do that.

So . . . how do we feel about this lost tax revenue over the same 10 years.?

I think it can already replace DEI hires and HR personnel. In fact, my cats can replace them.

Actually those people can become electricians, plumbers, nurses, etc- what we need most at this point which AI can’t replace...

Imagine a world in which politicians cannot break the law and cannot be bribed.

Look on the bright side. That 11% could come from the government sector.

Probably not. With the disappearance of that 12% will be an increase in the demand for humans to service the maintenance needs of the AI centers. I have no idea what that percentage will be, but it won’t be trivial and they will be making much higher incomes, hence higher taxes, than those who they replaced.

From the article: AI can already replace 11.7% of U.S. workforce

A glass of water could replace 11.7% of the U.S. workforce.

Re: "I trust AI more than human judges."

Recent law school graduates are facing the same issue.

Most of them just do basic research and summaries for the senior partners.

In 2025, top law firms in major USA cities paid in the $200K-$225 range for Top graduates.

This is great.

Now everyone can go live a life of luxury on the beach, no work required.

Should be able to squeeze a few billion more into LA and SD Counties.

Or at least that’s what Musk and Altman tell me...

I, too was going to mention that AI couldn’t replace any of those in trades industries. However for many reasons I am not too much in favor of AI.

They could “replace” them but have you ever used AI for customer service? It doesn’t mean AI will be able to do the job well.
