Not a fan of this. Mamdani ridiculed Trump after his election and now he’s coming to the White House? I’d tell him to pound sand.
I would have met him at Trump Towers as a reminder to Mamdani just who has helped build up the city of NY. Don’t give this guy anymore prestige for his side.
Not sure I’m in on this. Possibility of legitimizing Mamdani by having him at the White House.
I agree it’s all about the optics and then we’ll have to deal with the “spin” that Mamdani puts on it after the meeting.

Most of us are traditional conservatives who see a White House and Federal government that should allow local governments to operate, within the law, according to their own choices, and to "sink or swim" according to their good or bad choices.
But that's not reality today in the USA. The Constitution is on life-support and cities and states live and die on Federal Governments printed money and massive debt.
Trump probably views a White House visit as similar to a visit toBuckingham Palace. It's a recognition of your place within the realm, but if you want something from the President/King - you must come and bend the knee. Don't be surprised also if you get a public warning or dressing down
Maybe Trump is going to bitch slap him like he did Zelensky.

Meeting with Trump just gives the socialist fool notoriety. Understand he lied on his form 400 immigration form in 2018 and that’s a felony. Wonder how many muslim illegals were allowed to vote for him?

This is really disappointing. Mamdani is in effect getting immediately rewarded for dissing Trump. Mamdani just wants the event for a semblance of legitimacy and money to fund his give aways. I don’t see how inviting this creep to the White House squares with MAGA.

Someone in the administration knows if this is true or not. Why is nothing being done? Republicans talk about accountability; but that’s all they do.
Maybe T$ turns him over to ICE after the meeting for deportation?
