Greene pushes back on Trump: ‘Affordability is a problem’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) pushed back on President Trump’s claim that grocery prices are falling, arguing that affordability — an issue she believes contributed to GOP election losses this week — is a problem for many Americans.

“I go to the grocery store myself,” Greene told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Thursday. “Grocery prices remain high. Energy prices are high. My electricity bills are higher here in Washington, D.C., at my apartment, and they‘re also higher at my house in Rome, Ga., higher than they were a year ago.”

“So, affordability is a problem,” the lawmaker continued. She said she worried about her children’s generation the most, because “they’re having a very hard time.”

The Georgia Republican said that when she is back home in the Peach State, many of her constituents tell her they have trouble affording groceries and paying their rent.

“I‘m hearing stories of, not only are we having a really hard time affording groceries and rent and things like that, but I’m also hearing stories about people maxing out their credit cards just to afford their monthly expenses,” she told Collins, who hosts “The Source.”

Greene previously tied Americans’ dissatisfaction with the economy to Democratic victories at the polls, saying it played a “significant factor in the elections.”

So repeal the ACA entirely.

Replace it with nothing.

“Affordability” has been a growing problem since at least 1970. Wages have been flat since at least then. And The Fed has been devaluing the dollar since 1913. We’re $40T in debt and that has been growing for decades. Housing scarcity has increased because millions of illegal aliens entered the country, and also because goody-goody politicians have passed a ton of zoning and environmental laws, and also because feminism has continually made pair-bonding harder and harder so now the housing stock is less likely to be occupied by a happy couple with children and more likely to be occupied by single people who each need their own house.

There is a lot going on.

But the conclusion is that Democrats won elections in NY, NJ, and VA because Trump screwed up everything in the past year. Right? Is that what we’re supposed to believe?

As far as Obamacare is concerned, it was ALWAYS going to be a massive failure because it was always a precursor for Single Payer which is what the commies want..now as far as everything being expensive, look, she’s right..and if Trump and his team dont take care of it and soon we are gonna get massacred in the midterms period. Cant do what Biden did and claim “The border is secure” when people saw with their own eyes it was wide open, same with the economy, Trump can go on TV and say how awesome everything is but when you go to the stores everything is more money, construction companies are not building homes. Gotta do something to fix that, cant put our heads in the sand cause its our guy in the white house

She’s not wrong in saying prices are high. They’ve been high.

And they’re not going down.

REAL inflation under Biden was likely around 8%, compounded annually. So the essentials excluded from the official numbers, and which we all use...food and energy and housing...have gone up about 35-40% over the last 5 years.

Everyone can see that and to deny it is to deny reality.

Again, those prices/costs and NOT going to reverse.

It’s the new normal.

People need to start calling this “dog faced” woman exactly what she is. She wants power and will do whatever she can to get it.

also, she's not wrong. theres a very vague area between where people say 'wow this inflation sucks' and where people say 'lets start hanging politicians from lampposts'.
we are already past the first point
