California Republicans aren’t taking Tuesday’s landslide victory for redistricting sitting down, instead announcing the morning after the statewide special election that they have filed a federal lawsuit to challenge Proposition 50.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs alleged the ballot measure violates the 14th and 15th amendments by unconstitutionally gerrymandering congressional districts to favor one race.
Although the U.S. Supreme Court has in the past permitted gerrymandered maps in limited instances to protect minority voters under the Voting Rights Act, the attorneys said there was no proof that gerrymandering to favor Hispanics, in the case of Proposition 50, was necessary.
Aside from the California Republican Party, Assemblymember David Tangipa, R-Clovis, and 18 California voters are parties to the lawsuit. It named as defendants Gov. Gavin Newsom, who pushed for Proposition 50, as well as California Secretary of State Shirley Weber...

The left has sued to block many initiatives. Including Prop 8, about gay marriage, and two different initiatives that wouldn’t let a child get an abortion without parental approval.
White people are now a minority in California. Does the new gerrymandered plan discriminate against white people — who tend to be heavily Republican, even in California, outside the coastal looney bins? The democrats have for decades used minority representation to drive racial gerrymandering, using race as a substantially accurate proxy for democrat voting blocks. Turnabout is fair play.
Corrupt courts will throw it out — saying Republicans have no standing.
The ONLY reason why this garbage passed last night is because illegal aliens voted overwhelmingly to let it happen..there is NO ID here required in order to vote, anyone gets a ballot in the mail, fill it out and ship it in, no proof of citizenship required
Huntington Beach one of the few conservative cities here in Commiefornia will now be represented by commie Garcia once the gerrymandering takes place
Don’t forget Proposition 187.
Good to see pushback!
The Dems wouldn’t hesitate.
This could prove to be a Big Deal! Happy to see that the GOP in CA hasn’t totally assumed room temperature.
With all these elections yesterday,(where ALL of them went democrat) not ONE person mentions on social media that the massive fraud is still in effect and that these elections should have been questioned.
At this time, Dave Min represents Huntington Beach...He is a Democrat from Irvine...
This new district map will not make too much difference...Huntington Beach is already represented by a Democrat...
Democrat Robert Garcia should have no problem getting elected even if Huntington Beach is added to his district...His base of support is Long Beach...Not too far from Huntington Beach...
Republicans don’t seem to want to end election fraud. Remember, Florida tamped down on election fraud successfully in 2022, and Republicans bashed him for it.

At least someone is trying to fight this.
prop 50 winning was 100% fraud, all polls beforehand showed something like 90% of the people opposing it
“Does the new gerrymandered plan discriminate against white people...”
The next time a court strikes down a redistricting plan for discriminating against Whites will be the first time ever. Every other race, however, is protected.
Would it surprise anyone if:
1. The CA Republican lawsuit fails, but
2. The TX Democrat lawsuit succeeds?
That’s how these things usually go, regardless of merit.
So California exterminates 5 GOP reps while Texas spins its wheels and retains the status quo by judicial fiat. That would be +5 for the Rats between TX (which was supposed to be R+4 or R+5) and CA, not even considering other Democrat states which will try or already are trying to imitate CA albeit on a smaller scale (MD, VA, IL and possibly others).
“prop 50 winning was 100% fraud, all polls beforehand showed something like 90% of the people opposing it”
In fact all recent polls were around 55% likely approval, some more like 60%, and no poll anywhere has 90% of people agreeing on anything.
Secretary of Stasi Shirley Weber, another DemoCommie stooge...
Since this redistricting shit was based on a state referendum, I'm wondering if it could be ruled unconstitutional, since it affects Federal elections.
Redistricting is both a state and federal matter, as state legislatures or commissions draw the district maps, but they must comply with federal laws and constitutional requirements like equal population and the prohibition of racial discrimination. The CA Rep party has already filed suit against it in Federal Court based on violations of the 14th & 15th amendments.
