The current government shutdown is the second longest in history
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced on Saturday that food stamps will not be issued next month due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.
The shutdown, which is the second longest, entered its 26th day.
The Senate has not passed the House bill to continue government funding.
"Bottom line, the well has run dry," the USDA said on its website. "At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01."

I’ve got an excellent idea. Have every illegal alien thief take a food stamper out to dinner at least once. The U.S. taxpayers are paying for the illegal aliens’ meals anyway.
Democrats in the Senate have had 12 opportunities to pass the budget and provide food to the needy. They refused. Democrats don’t care about the needy. They care about illegal immigrants and drug running terrorists.
The day after the food benefits are stopped there will be news photos for the TV media showing starving children.

I’m betting that the Democrats have it planned (and have had) to end the shutdown just before Thanksgiving Day, so that they can ‘take credit’ for magnanimously not wanting to spoil everyone’s holiday. They will hype it up to the press that they’re the ‘bigger person’ in this fight while they pretend to be heroes.
Me? I think every swingin-D one of the rats should have their paychecks docked $10,000 for every day they stubbornly refuse to sign on to the CR that they, themselves, have signed onto many times in the past, even preaching against shutting down the government as they are now doing. I can dream, can’t I?
