Israel on Friday published the names of 250 Palestinian security prisoners it has agreed to release as part of the Gaza ceasefire-hostage deal, and Israeli authorities began notifying families whose loved ones’ killers are set to go free.
However, Hamas’s Prisoners’ Ministry said there was no agreement yet on the identities of the prisoners to be freed, and Qatari-owned network Al Araby TV cited sources saying the list published by Israel on Friday omitted some names that mediators had agreed on.
The list, published the morning after the cabinet approved the US-backed ceasefire deal, includes members of the Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Fatah and the Popular Front terror groups, responsible for dozens of deadly terror attacks, but does not include some key terror chiefs Hamas has demanded, including popular Fatah figure Marwan Barghouti.

the Israeli government has sold out the country. Something Israeli governments keep doing over and over and over and over and OVER AGAIN
letting hundreds of convicted Arab terrorist murderers free... en masse too... is a sure promise of hundreds if not thousands of more innocent people getting murdered, tortured, slaughtered...the recividism rate among these Servants of Satan is quite high
On the other hand, you can’t shoot them dead while they’re in prison. Then they have “human rights,” and Amnesty International and the UN get real upset. Release them into the wild, like pheasants on a rich man’s estate. And then track them and take them down whenever they step out of line. There is a cost to this, they will successfully kill people, but also a benefit. They’re no longer protected by laws from deadly force, so long as they attempt to attack, and they will. Shadow them, either by a surgically implanted tracer, or by surveillance of one sort or another.
I bet everyone released by Israel is still alive...
for now. Fixed it.

I know that sounds strange, but I believe it to be true. Israel politics are pretty leftist.
Yes, this is my understanding also.
Israel had a lot of socialism in its 1948 refounding. To a degree, this was seen as necessary given the harsh circumstances of that day and time, people really did have to be organized and work together as teams, collectives. Whether draining swamps or reclaiming deserts or building water supply systems or highways or whatever.
Indeed, while President Truman famously issued de facto recognition of the refounding of the State of Israel in 1948, the Soviet Union was the first foreign country to extend de jure recognition (just three days later). The Soviets were atracted in part by the historic victory of an indigenous people in recovering their homeland (this fitting right in nicely with aspects of the communist agenda). And the Soviets were more than pleased with the socialistic or leftist element they (correctly) perceived in Israel.
So, while Israel has since incorporated a great deal of free market capitalism (indeed, it is called the “startup nation” for the thousands of enterprises created by its citizens) and more individual liberty than is commonly found in purely socialist societies, it still retains some significant elements of collectivity (its universal health care system plus some powerful labor unions and some very visibile leftwingish professors on its college campuses.
This leftist element is quite strong in the (rather dysfunctional) parliamentary system (knesset) in Jeruslem. So there’s a combination of some well -established and organized leftwing elements in society, a strong leftist congingent in the knesset, AND third, billions of dollars of enemy foreign capital flowing into the country to destablize it (such as with large “spontanous” street demonstrations and propaganda press parties, etc.)
Israel is, to a considerable measure, a microcosm of the problems we see active today in USA. Not a 100 percent correspondence but sufficiently overlapping for a useful comparision. (And with much of the destabilizing funding and organizing coming from the same sources.)
Did you see this one?
Egyptian media is reporting a traffic accident approximately 50 kilometers from Sharm El-Sheikh in which three Qatari diplomats were killed and three others wounded.
The killed diplomats are from the Qatari Prime Minister’s negotiations team, the reports added. [Arutz Sheva Briefs]
Mossad’s already starting? Or just crazy both-lanes-both-directions driving common throughout the Middle East and Europe.
Radiation Therapist to Dr: “Does that look like a head to you? I told him to stop listening to Adam Schiff!”
The families of the hostages wanted the war continue until won. The leftist agitator class in Tel Aviv wanted a peace deal at all costs, in the name of freeing the hostages. Agenda uber alles, so they wanted that in the name of the hostages, whose families wanted the war to continue.
Wars in the ME are not supposed to last two years. The government even wanted to draft Haredim, who emphatically did not want to be drafted. Between the Tel Aviv agitator class and the recalcitrant draft-dodging Haredim’s protests, travel was becoming hell on wheels. And of course, two years and 1,150 soldiers dead and thousands more wounded and/or shell shocked, sometimes because of idiot generals’ idiotic policies, everyone was fed up.
But the only thing distinguishing this peace deal from any other is Trump’s backing it. I’m skeptical but hopeful that his unique talents and personality will make the difference.
I pray you are correct.
So do I.
(2) Kill all 250 released terrorists
Iran has the most to gain from disrupting the negotiations.
See #3.
The UN hates Israel no matter what. If Israel committed no war crimes the UN would make some up out of thin air. Israel should create a new category of war prisoner: terrorist combatant. Prisoners convicted into this category are subject to execution dependent on enemy actions. If the enemy takes hostages execute one of the terrorist combatants everyday until the hostages are returned.
