“Prisoners”. Well, it is Arab media but... Sorry, the Israelis in captivity are Hostages not prisoners. They were innocent civilians kidnapped by a rogue, stateless terror group and given no due process, no trial, and no humane treatment. Israel, which has international law on its side, takes prisoners. As the Occupying Power, they have the authority even to prosecute criminals inside Gaza for crimes against Gazans. Sinwar, for one example, was jailed for murdering his Palestinian political enemies not for crimes against Israel. He was traded in a 1000 for 1 exchange to release an Israeli soldier some 15 years ago, only to become Hamas leader and plotter of Oct 7th massacre.
And the whole thing is just nuts. It took two years of Israel basically bombing every building for Hamas to just give back the hostages? Hamas has a severe mental problem and need to be exiled.

A captured soldier is a prisoner.
A kidnapped civilian is a hostage.
I understand the 1st phase of the deal is done, that 20 live hostages(Now we know that 20 are indeed alive) will be released on Saturday/Sunday and the dead hostages will perhaps take longer since some of the dead are NOT in Hamas’s hands, they are in different factions so its going to be harder to retrieve, now what I need to find out is what happens to Hamas, they have to leave, they cannot stay in Gaza, PERIOD

Details are pertinent. Cheering this 'announcement' is ignorant (labeling the hostages prisoners, for one, releasing hamas terrorists as some sort of equitable swap for another.
I still don’t see any freed hostages. One? Two? Ten? Twenty live hostages? Where? All I see are unmatched chickens.

That’s about the lowest IQ the military will allow for the infantry. Below that, they cannot be trained on much more than running, jumping, shooting rudimentary projectiles and guns, and blowing things up.

Pay attention...Marco Rubio gave a nice talk on the hostage and prisoner exchange. There’s a set of logistics that are in the works. What we do know for certain is that they have exchanged lists of persons involved.
There is obviously intelligence indicating about 20 are still alive. At least that’s what the media and politicians keep repeating so I think it’s a fair assumption.
A part of me from the beginning said Israel might consider treating the situation as if they were all dead. That’s a hard pill to swallow though in a small country and when the Hamas PR machine is showing proof of life as psychological warfare.
No country wants to leave their dead in hostile territory. And for Jewish religious reasons, the dead should be buried on sanctified grounds.
