Democrat AG Candidate Appears To Have Violated Judge’s Terms For Reckless Driving Charge

Democrat Virginia Attorney General candidate Jay Jones appears to have violated the community service terms for his 2022 reckless driving charge, according to a statement the office that prosecuted the case provided to the Daily Caller.

Jones was arrested in New Kent County for driving 46 miles per hour over the speed limit in 2022. He avoided jail time through a “deferred deposition,” which allowed him to pay a fine and complete community service hours.

New Kent Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Randy Del Rossi told the Caller that Virginia defines community service as “unpaid service or labor performed through any non-political, charitable non-profit,” confirming prior reporting by Restoration News. “That’s all I’m gonna say,” Del Rossi added.

However, Jones completed roughly 500 hours of his community service through his political action committee (PAC), Meet Our Moment (MOM), which is registered with the Virginia Board of Elections and not recognized as a nonprofit charity.

Court documents obtained by Restoration News allegedly show Jones waived his arraignment, with the first hearing in his case set for April 26, 2022. Jones sought a continuation on his case multiple times for various reasons — including a prior court commitment, his wife being out of town, and his attorney’s unavailability.

Ultimately, the hearing on his reckless driving charge allegedly didn’t take place until after Jones had already completed his “community service” and a driver improvement course, timing that appeared particularly advantageous for him.

Jones’ community service documentation included a letter from MOM’s executive director, obtained by Restoration News, which states vaguely that the group’s mission is to “train civic leaders.”

The attestation letter Jay Jones submitted to the court — written on behalf of his own PAC, “Meet Our Moment” — claims community service credit for work done with an organization that “trains civic leaders,” despite the group’s stated purpose of recruiting and electing minority Democratic candidates.

The letter does not mention Jones’s involvement in the creation of the group, its designation as a state PAC, or that its true mission is to “recruit and train minority Democratic candidates to run for and win state and local offices.”

The attestation letter to the court appears to be a clear misrepresentation of the group’s purpose.

In addition to his reckless driving conviction, unearthed text messages from Jones to a Republican state delegate show him fantasizing about putting “two bullets to the head” of former Republican Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert. Jones also accused Gilbert and his wife of raising “little fascists” and that he hoped their children would die.

The Jones family has a long political history in Virginia. Jones’s father, Jerrauld Jones, was a prominent Virginia judge and former state legislator. He passed away in 2025.

Maybe Jones will drag down the statewide ticket in VA this year just like Mark Robinson did in NC last year. Difference is: Robinson is a Republican, so while WE are hearing a lot about what a piece of shit Mr. Jones is, the low-info (Democrat) voters in VA probably aren’t hearing a peep.

46mph OVER the speed limit?

So, like 86 in a 40 or 106 in a 60? What state is this? You damned sure don’t get “deferred deposition” for that in Arizona!

He served his purpose.

It is possible, in my opinion that the reason he was born on March 14, 1989 was to live to the day he could disgrace the other Dems and Socialists and cause them to be tested about whether or not they would speak out against his vile statements.

The other Dems failed.

He and the other Dems have today to repent. Same as for allof us. No one knows how much longer we have.

Does anyone remember the ball player Jose Canseco? Once for standing in the outfield to make a catch and the ball dropped on his head and bounced over the wall for a home run.

Other was the day an officer clocked Canseco speeding in his red Porsche at 104 mph on February 6, 1991.

First, he smiled and said “That fast? You know how you’re going 104 and it feels to you like it’s only 65?”

Then he claimed he was testing the effects of special aviation fuel put into the tank.

It’s my sincere opinion that speeding isn’t really the problem. Getting caught is!

Yeah, black Democrats are rarely held accountable for anything in VA. It’s the “soft bigotry of low expectations. “ They have gotten used to near total legal immunity, and any criticism of them is de facto racism.

I believe he was going 116 mph. Yes, because he’s a black candidate in Virginia, he’ll get by with it. Latest poll -taken before all of this came out - has him up 6 pts.

New Kent Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Randy Del Rossi should interview Lesley Chinbaum Stewart and have her present records that prove Jones actually performed the community service she claimed in her letter. Reasonable proof would be daily time tickets with a description of work performed, signed by a witness/supervisor. Under questioning, Lesley Stewart will say that Jones created and supervised his own work, and she took Jones’ word for it.

Since Jones likely didn’t actually do squat and they all lied, he and Stewart need to be charged with fraud. The CA should also re-open the high-speeding case for resentencing.

Of course none of that will happen, but making it clear that the guy is a fraud who got special treatment would be good.
