RICHMOND, Va. — Democrat Abigail Spanberger leads Republican Winsome Earle-Sears by 10 points in Virginia’s race for governor, according to a new survey from the Wason Center for Civic Leadership at Christopher Newport University.
The poll of likely Virginia voters shows Spanberger with 52% support to Earle-Sears’ 42%, while 6% remain undecided. The report notes that statewide races have tightened slightly since the previous Wason Center survey in mid-September, though the differences remain within the survey’s margin of error.
In the lieutenant governor’s race, Democrat Ghazala Hashmi leads Republican John Reid 48% to 39%, with 12% undecided. For attorney general, Democrat Jay Jones holds a six-point advantage over incumbent Republican Jason Miyares, 49% to 43%.

"The survey included 805 likely Virginia voters interviewed between September 29 and October 1, 2025, by landline and cell phone. It carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points. The Wason Center plans to release another poll before Election Day on November 4."
So the poll was taken BEFORE the scandal about the AG candidate, Jay Johnson's, texts were revealed. This poll is as meaningless as most polls over a month before an election. What will be interesting will be the polls to come especially after the VA gubernatorial debate this Thursday.

I read the dim Governors association recently poured $50 million into this race...you don’t do that if internals are saying your side has a 10pt lead....

I agree. Spanberger has ads on Conservative news programs about every 5 minutes. She wouldn’t be doing that if she were confident of winning. BTW: They are really bad ads.
Voting has been going on since September 19, so that blunts the effect of the vote. My guess is that if Jones drops out, the replacement cannot win. That’s one reason why they are all in, and staying all in.

At the debate, I wish someone would ask something like this: as a CIA officer, were you ever involved in suppressing democracy anywhere in the world? Why did you pick as your running mate someone who joked about killing his political opponents? Or was it a joke?
If you look through Spamburger’s resume, she either is never very good at what she does, or she has a short attention span, or she has great connections.
She’s a fraud as well as an idiot.
She first worked as a substitute teacher at a Saudi school (She has an MBA).
Then she got a job as postal inspector for a few years, probably as some kind of favor to her dad, who also was one.
Then she worked for the CIA.

She was hired by Royall & Company (now EAB).[11] In 2017, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe appointed her to the Virginia Fair Housing Board.[12]”
There’s no reason to believe she knows anything about nuclear proliferation or terrorism, so that sounds hinky.

After working there for just a few years, Gov. McAwful appointed her to the Fair Housing Board, another job she was completely unqualified for.
After that, the Dims realized that she was the perfect Karen to run for office, and the rest is history.

Jason Miyares has been excellent - and yet he's running this far behind...it should not take a scandal on the part of his opponent for him to possibly get re-elected
