Gavin Newsom ends Kamala Harris' California anti-truancy law
Politico ^ | 10/01/25 | Lindsey Holden

SACRAMENTO, California — Gavin Newsom just undid one of the most contentious policies Kamala Harris championed during her time as San Francisco district attorney.

The California governor today signed a bill ending a policy punishing parents for their children’s chronic truancy — a measure that became a flashpoint in Harris’ 2020 presidential primary campaign.

It's called the More Help Not Less Act of 2025, ensuring no accountability for a child's education. How the democrats ever vote for this in the first place?

Liberals vacillating between “People need to obey the government” and “We need to quit punishing minorities when they don’t obey the government”.

“We need to quit punishing minorities when they don’t obey the government”.

Suggestion:

“We need to quit punishing minorities 'our people' when they don’t obey the government”.

They write these truancy laws with the idea that poor minorities need to be in school but there is no way to make them go to school without punishing them. So it just goes back and forth. Punish them, complain they are being unduly singled out for punishment and then stop punishing them. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink

You can force a kid to school, but you can’t make him think

Minorities in general are moving to the right in droves (at least those whose brain is still >50% and not terminally poisoned). It’s just the wrong term. White leftists fall under the banner.

‘Their people’ cannot be punished: Only those on the right, illustrated by the post just down the stack about the Conservative arrested by PPD after being attacked by a sea of antifa thugs.

Worse, ‘their people’ being punished generates stats which reflect negatively on their policies; they can’t have that either.

As red states clean up their acts under the aegis of DJT, the focus will shift to the unravelling of social fabric in leftist states due to leftist policies.

I, for one, welcome this chasm and its consequent publicity, especially exposing the infiltration into red states by leftists and their toxic policies (yeah, you, TX et al).

Black unity is existential for the Democrat party. The DNC has worked mightily to present the illusion of Afro Heritage unity when there is actually a lot of diversity.

Diversity in the Afro Heritage citizenry is death to the Democrats when widely acknowledged.

My observations are that blacks whom I referenced (those with >50% brain, i.e., those with “more than half a brain” i.e., “not brainless”) are moving to Conservatism.

Those choosing the stereotype trap laid by progressive leftists aren’t choosing unity: They choose poisons and ‘free chit’.

I believe that we could view ‘diversity’ as a euphemism for ‘awakening’ when referencing those moving to the right...

...but it’s too early to gauge the effects at the so-called ‘ballot box’.

"You can force a kid to school, but you can’t make him think."

Hmmm. I'm almost at the point where a kid just might be better off if he stayed the hell out of the schoolhouse. Better to look for an "apprenticeship" then to hang about with those who rob you of your allegiance and love of country.

In my mind there are those that are the Afro Heritage Minority-Majority and those that are the Afro Heritage Minority-Minority.

President Trump is in fact producing a movement from one to the other resulting in an increase in the Minority-Minority citizenry.

The DNC will collapse when the Minority-Minority exceeds say 15% of the voters

Same page, like thoughts.

But DJT needs to find the poison pill for mail in voting etc.

I’d be satisfied with a return to in-person voting and voters proudly displaying a purple dyed finger.

I have come to believe that President Trump et al are operating with an extremely detailed agenda that is developed with strict priorities and related time line.

I believe that he will address the voting problem you note when it comes up on the list. That is, at a time and place of his choosing.

A common poison that government likes to use is red tape and “service fees”. Is making a vote by mail something that could be discouraged by requiring a chain of custody? Make it certified or registered to drive up cost, thereby decreasing it’s use? Or would that run afoul of poll tax issue? Idk, someone is already paying to handle all that paper communication.

Agreed.

I believe that ‘chain of custody’ is the sole legal precedent which would pass SCOTUS muster when - not ‘if’ - codified by law. It would forever KILL ‘mail in voting’ leaving only qualified exceptions for absentee voting.

The trick is getting a bill through Congress...one which also removes forever ‘electronic voting & tabulation’.

Gavin Newsom has undid a lot of things while his term in office reasoning tops the list.
