Sir Ed Davey [LibDem leader] brands Elon Musk a criminal and calls for his ARREST for 'allowing online harm to children'

Sir Ed Davey has branded Elon Musk a criminal and called for him to be prosecuted for "allowing online harm to children" on his social media platform X.

The Lib Dem leader told Sky News' Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips the billionaire owner of X, formerly Twitter, is "inciting violence" and his social media platform is actively failing to protect children.

Sir Ed, speaking from the Lib Dem conference in Bournemouth, said Mr Musk could be prosecuted under the Online Safety Act, under which social media companies have a legal duty to protect children from harmful content and their directors are liable for criminal prosecution for breaching it.

Asked if he is calling Mr Musk a criminal, Sir Ed did not miss a beat as he said: "Yes.

"Not just because of the awful things he's done in inciting violence, and, for example, he says a civil war in our country is inevitable, that our democratically elected government should be overthrown.

"They were bad enough. But on his platform, they're examples of adverse, pushing people on self-harm, on grooming, even selling videos showing paedophile acts, of child sex abuse acts and I think he should be held to account for them, him personally and his business.

"Ofcom now has the powers under the Online Safety Act."

Well, why not try it and see what happens?

Arrest Elon Musk and watch the western world turn immediately against the UK government and demand its ouster.

Musk can immediately shut down all Starlink satellite access available to the UK and all NATO countries. Elon Musk has the power to make life a living hell for tyrants like this.

Maybe they should clean up their rape gangs and provide a full-accounting of the tens of thousands of kids abused by them before they start harping about their concerns on the internet.

I’m not sure the western world would turn against the UK, Trump and the USA definitely would, other EU countries and Australia have similar laws to the UK about prosecuting people for online content.

If the UK were to arrest Musk, whatever special relationship that exists with the UK should be suspended immediately and severe sanctions should be put on the UK that crashes their economy.

Countries using online content laws to punish people and companies outside of their country should be abolished, it’s a gateway to some terrible things.

“Sir Ed, speaking from the Lib Dem conference in Bournemouth, said Mr Musk could be prosecuted under the Online Safety Act, under which social media companies have a legal duty to protect children from harmful content ...”

That’s rich, considering the entire British elite has engaged in a rape/genocide against the British people. “Maybe they should clean up their rape gangs” indeed.

lol...and we ALL KNOW that if a leftist said “we must fight”, it’d be construed as “politically”. If it’s said by somebody on the right, it’s taken as “violence”.

Musk knew what he was doing, I figured his words would be twisted this way, as did he. I think he deliberately walked the line here....begging for calls for his arrest.

He’s forcing the UK to make a choice. Either shut down X in the UK, demonstrating they’re just like China or North Korea, or, call for the arrest of speech they dislike, like in China or North Korea, or, allow speech they don’t like.

It’s very deliberate imho.

At what point are parents responsible for what their children “see” anywhere? A parent who gives kids uncontrolled access to phones & computers needs parenting lessons.
