In a large-scale immigration enforcement sweep at a Hyundai facility in Georgia on Thursday, 475 immigrants suspected of living and working in the U.S. illegally were detained, a senior Department of Homeland Security official told CBS News.

The operation involved law enforcement agents from multiple federal agencies, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the Border Patrol; the FBI; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and the IRS, underscoring the government-wide nature of the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration.

Earlier, the Atlanta office of the ATF had said 450 people were detained in a post on social media, which included pictures from the operation.

“Made in America,” my ass. Might as well be in Mexico. Someone must go to jail for this. Stop these damn fines, and set a real example of fear.

Seriously, they don't know better? Fine the heck out of them and throw the hiring manager in jail.

Yes, this must end. We also need to cut off the fed/state/county/NGO spending supporting illegal immigrants. Turn off the cash, and they’ll go home.

I still think that 80% of the illegal immigration problem could be solved by dealing with the corrupt EMPLOYERS who ignore the law regarding employing non-citizens.

It would be the cheapest, most effective operation we would see.

Rounding up and deporting would be just inexpensive cleanup.

Ditto. Until companies that hire illegals are severely punished this will continue. Criminally prosecute the managers who knowingly hire them as well,

These were mostly Koreans, so “Made in Korea” is a more apt description.

YES! Agree 100% of all the posts above, that’s a first too! The even better news is that all these illegals likely know 5+ other illegals that will now self-deport to get out while the getting is good.

Arrest the owners/senior managers. Publicly announce that raids will be carried out at all large employers in the state and if there are any cases of people being employed illegally than the owners and managers at those facilities will be arrested.

I read elsewhere that Hyundai stated “none of the 450 was employed by Hyundai” — hence, a subcontractor cut-out.

Hyundai factories are non union which probably makes it easier to get away with undercutting American workers.

I've always wondered...

What do the cockles of the heart look like, and what part do they play in the heart? ;)
