The “go fund me” they started says she wrote a bad check in 2015. Usually the business who received that check will contact you to correct it before it proceeds to a legal matter. So I assume there is probably alot more to the story.

That is bizarre. As an anecdotal case, my grandmother (who had poor English even though she came here in 1956) didn’t want to apply for citizenship because she didn’t think she could pass the test. She remained a green-card holder until she died.

(and before any DU lurkers think about targeting me, I was born in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a US citizen parent).
