As the US and other Western countries continue to rely on Qatar to broker a ceasefire-hostage deal to end the war in the Gaza Strip, senior Qatari journalists affiliated with the Qatar's state-run media continue to praise the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas, and are even calling for Hamas to kidnap more Israelis.
Al-Jazeera has been broadcasting similar videos from Hamas since the beginning of the war.
While the Qatari government claims to the Trump Administration that it is working to release the 50 Israeli hostages held by Hamas, & other terrorists in the Gaza Strip, al-Harmi, closely associated with Qatar's leadership, is calling for kidnapping more Israelis – whom, by the way, he described as "rats."
"If success is not achieved this time in capturing Zionist soldiers at the hands of the heroes of Hamas Brigades, then the second, third, and fourth attempts will succeed, God willing, by adding new rats to the tally held by the heroes of the [Hamas] Brigades." — Jaber al-Harmi, editor-in-chief of the Qatari government mouthpiece newspaper Al Sharq, on X.
"I swear, the Zionist entity will inevitably disappear.... Its end is near, very near." — Jaber al-Harmi, quoting a video by Al-Jazeera, X August 26, 2025.
"Al-Harmi's views on Israel and the Jews are aligned with the extremist ideology of Hamas and reflect his unreserved support for this movement and for its terror against Israelis – support which is also expressed by the Qatari state."— Middle East Media Research Institute.
If Qatar really wanted to end the war in the Gaza Strip, its representatives and propagandists would not be calling on Hamas to kidnap more Israelis.
If Qatar really wanted to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, it could do so by threatening to arrest or deport the Hamas leaders living in Doha or by seizing their financial assets.

Our US press (media) lie almost as much as a number of Middle East leaders.
As a Nation, for a long time, the USA thought they could work with both sides of ME leaders. That does not work. In some nations it is worse than others.
Middle East oil money keeps the insanity going.
The author of this article is Muslim.
Gatestone Institute has a lot of good authors. Over the years I have posted a few.
Reliance upon cheap manufacturing (China) and relying on Middle East oil money are a bad cocktail.
If you are not sure that is true, look at what a mess England is in today. The camel's nose is a long way inside the tent, especially in London.
The UK was once a power house globally, today? They survive on foreign money and they have imported a LOT of Trouble.
We must not walk down that street.
God Bless the USA. God Bless Texas. God Bless your family and mine.
How fragile is the Qatari government?
Way back when I was a boy, I saw what began as America, a land of much oil, making deals with Arab countries who care not for us, but will take our money.
I found that nuts, and the Carter years proved me right, but here we are, doing it still
..
Huge Oil production in a tiny nation, run by dictators and bureaucrats? Head shake.
Leaders in some small ME nations, actually like dealing with the USA and our international companies.
Most are indifferent about us, only interested in our technology and money. (some of that is illusion)
It makes me sick seeing the number of US companies who have been bought by foreign interests. Dependency on a large scale, that is suicide for nations.
F*** Qatar.

Muslims are so deceptive. How can you “negotiate” with them when you KNOW you cannot trust what they say.
Yes, pale face, they cannot be trusted.
UAE is a lot more to be trusted. It is clear that Qatar is run by people who fund Terrorists all over the ME.
In the case of Qatar, I believe it is money driven for those at the top, not religious beliefs.
Power and Money!
I’ve said for a while that President Trump needs to jerk a very tight knot into the Qataris. Cut them off from the US banking system, revoke all Qatari visas, and deny their aircraft landing rights in the US until every last one of those savages is turned over to us bound hand and foot in chains.

Is that where our politicians were trained? smile.
“Taqiyya” = Deception
Muslims are allowed to lie to infidels. They say they don’t to each other? I guess they just kill each other quietly.
As of late August 2025, Qatar’s role in helping end the Israel-Gaza war is centered on its ongoing diplomatic mediation efforts, often in coordination with Egypt and the United States. While Qatar successfully brokered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in January 2025, recent talks have stalled, with mediators blaming Israeli delays.
Poor Mr Netanyahu was very busy bombing Syria, concentrating on his fraud trial and possibly facing a new Israeli election due to the instability of his government.
Latest ceasefire proposal (August 2025): In mid-August 2025, Qatar and Egypt put forward a ceasefire proposal to Hamas. The plan included a 60-day cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and a prisoner-hostage swap. Hamas reportedly agreed to the terms of this proposal on August 18, 2025.
By late August 2025, Qatari officials stated that Israel had not responded to the proposal. In a joint press conference with Egypt on August 28, 2025, Qatar’s Prime Minister called on the international community to pressure Israel into accepting the latest ceasefire proposal.
Qatar continues to coordinate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the latest proposal would have surged food and medical supplies into the enclave.
Qatar is involved in discussions for a post-conflict recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza. Both Qatar and Egypt have committed to blocking any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians from their territory.
As a key mediator, Qatar faces a difficult position, caught between parties with deeply conflicting objectives. Qatar hosts Hamas’s political office, a move originally requested by the U.S. to facilitate indirect talks. However, this role has drawn criticism from Israel.
Israeli leaders have viewed Qatari efforts with skepticism and have been accused of changing the terms of potential deals. In July 2025, Israel’s Prime Minister’s office initially called proposed amendments “unacceptable” but did send a negotiating team to Qatar for talks.
The complex dynamics and conflicting interests of all involved parties, including different factions within the Palestinian leadership, make any lasting solution exceptionally difficult to achieve.

“Muslims are so deceptive. How can you “negotiate” with them when you KNOW you cannot trust what they say.”
Taqqiya. That’s the baseline position to take when dealing Islamists.
hold we go to a war replicating WW2, we’s phooked!
Qatar has a population of about 3.2 million in an area of 4,471 sq mi.
The Gaza Strip has a population of 2 million in an area of 141 sq mi.
Qatar can easily take in their Arab brothers, and the Gazans can return to their native Arabia.
qatar needs to be memorialized like Sodom & Gomorrah.
Israel needs to gegotiate them one day, and kidnap them and their family the next. You got tunnels....put them down there.
Note that the babbling of “journalists” might not have anything to do with Gov’mt policy.
