The fertility rate for England and Wales has fallen for the third year in a row to reach a record low, figures show.
The total fertility rate across both countries, meaning the average number of live children women can expect to have across their child-bearing life, stood at 1.41 in 2024, down from 1.42 in 2023, the lowest since comparable data was first collected in 1938, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
This is despite a 0.6% increase in live births last year, with a 14% increase in the number of babies born to fathers over 60, according to figures published last month.
The disparity is down to the fact the adult population rose in 2024, which outweighed the increase in births. Since 1938, an increase in births at the same time as a decrease in the fertility rate has been observed only six times, with four occurring since 2011.
For a country’s population to remain stable over time – discounting any impact from migration – the total fertility rate needs to be about 2.1.
Greg Ceely, the head of population health monitoring at the ONS, said: “Fertility rates in England and Wales have been in overall decline since 2010. The total number of births increased last year, for the first time since 2021; but this was offset by population growth. As a result, fertility rates fell overall, and are now at the lowest rates on record.”
The stats also showed that the long-term trend of the average age of parents rising steadily over the past 50 years is continuing: the average age of mothers and fathers both increased by 0.1 years in 2024, with mothers aged 31 and fathers 33.9, according to the ONS’s annual Births in England and Wales publication.

But that’s the average. What is the birth rate in the Muslim community? Think how Los the BR is in the white community to bring the muzzie number down to 1.4.
Precisely. Also, the significant increase in fathers over 60 suggests robust Muslim procreation.
That brave little Scottish girl who has recently been in the news is probably lucky she was even allowed to be born. The country needs more like her, not less.
The politicians noticed that. They know that Whiteys will be gone if you wait long enough.
But they saw a ray of hope! They noticed that there is one demographic that multiplies like rabbits. The one that lets a man have 4 wives. The one that never assimilates to another culture.
So they allowed them in by the millions! Sure enough, all that free stuff gave them the ability to give the goats a break and to make all 4 wives pregnant.
But those eeevvil old Whiteys just wouldn’t die fast enough. So the politicians promoted their new friends to a privileged state and persecuted those Whiteys who objected. So now you’re thrown in jail for a social media posting that complains about being replaced.
All the British men with testosterone were killed in WWI and WWII.

Ditto for the Germans and French.
The young girls need to blame the older women that voted for this, not the men.
The globalists are usually quite racist and fail to see the Muslims as a strong force. They depopulate the whites because, as Rush said many times, the left always show you whom they fear the most.
Look at the muslim take over and infestation.
I can’t blame people for not wanting to bring children into such a world.
Well, we know the UK men have no balls.
Comments plus other possible causes. Infertility. Those who want DEPOPULATION are smart and EVIL.
Yes. What will our children and grandchildren be facing? There’s lots of good. There’s too much evil.
There was a hint of the depopulation agenda in many predictive programming films.
