Giorgia Meloni in 2028 and the Revenge of Sarah Palin
The American Spectator ^ | August 25, 2025, 10:07 PM | James H. McGee

Though the likely 2028 candidates are JD Vance, Marco Rubio, or Ron DeSantis, one can’t help but wish that we might have our own Giorgia Meloni.

“I am Giorgia!” she proclaimed in a now-famous speech. “I am a woman. I am a mother. I am Italian. I am a Christian, and you can’t take that away from me.” And three years after this defiant 2019 appearance on the political stage, Giorgia Meloni added yet another powerful proclamation: “I am the Prime Minister of Italy.” In the three years since, she has become perhaps the most consequential of European leaders, the one who best embodies a forward-looking solution to Europe’s malaise.

Palin was hated, above all else, for embodying an alternative vision of feminism, and it’s a vision that still needs an avatar.

Instead of the self-absorbed fantasies of France’s Macron, the tedious lawyerisms of the U.K.’s  Starmer, or the constipated whines of Germany’s Merz, we have someone insistently joyous and ready — more than ready — to push for solutions. Has she turned off the spigot of uncontrolled immigration? Not yet, but she’s way out in front of all the others, all the more notable given Italy’s front-line status. Has she led Italy out of the European Union as many hoped? No, but after being initially stigmatized by the Brussels bureaucracy, she’s now become the indispensable woman if Europe is to be revitalized. (RELATED: Meloni’s Italy: A Refreshing Crescendo to Brussels’ Dissonance)

At a time when support for Ukraine was deeply unpopular among her own supporters, she stood strong. It’s no accident that, when Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy and a cadre of other European leaders gathered with President Trump in the Oval Office, Meloni, the leader of perhaps the weakest of the major European countries, took center stage alongside Trump, quite literally...

Palin was the main reason I voted for McCain. The other reason is because he wasn’t Obama. McCain himself didn’t give me a reason to vote for him.

Amen, bro.

Mark Halperin took a cheap shot at Sarah Palin the other day when he compared Kamala Harris to Sarah Palin.

I thought Palin was more prepared to be President than McCain and hoped he would only serve one term so she could succeed him.

Commence flaming, Palin Haters.

I admired Sarah Palin. She embodied, IMHO, what a real strong conservative woman was and is. Couldn’t stand that traitor McPain. She made mcpain even weaker looking. She got a raw deal.

Was absolutely on the same wavelength with Palin.

But,to my way of thinking, Meloni is a different story - her handling of Ukraine will be problem for her.

Italy is a hot mess with tons of Africans on the streets and little pushback.

Lots of Asians everywhere.

She is all drama and no push.

No thanks

I agree. I voted for Palin. McCain just happened to be on the ticket

**I admired Sarah Palin.**
I did even after she quit.
She wouldn’t take on Murkowski on ‘16. Sat it out. No fight in her. Therefore she is not a strong conservative woman.

Sarah Palin has been out of the political picture for several years, but I still greatly miss her presence and influence. I keep hoping there has to be another place at the table of discussion, a place which only someone like Sarah could fill.

I can only speculate, that Trump and Sarah, (both opinionated and very headstrong people) must have had a disagreement about the manner in which some political point should be made. I can imagine hot, angry words being tossed into the dialog. Maybe that’s why she remains on the outside, still looking in, as her party occupies all 3 branches of our Government. Her head must be whirling with all kinds of good ideas The Donald is not prepared to listen to at this time.

None of us on FR knew about the Deep State when Palin was added to the ticket.
Its sad that they took out Palin along with the Tea Party before we discovered what was going on.

Georgia, honey, talk to Greece and find out how to stop the illegals from invading Italy...
Tell Brussels to eff off.
