This red state fears Californians bringing ‘radical, leftist ideology.’ It’s targeting teachers

It’s not easy being from California, especially if you’re hoping to leave the Golden State’s fires and rising home costs behind and move to a more affordable red state.

In Texas, some politicians have adopted “Don’t California my Texas” as both a rallying cry and a fundraising appeal.

And now, in Oklahoma, education officials have entered the fray by requiring teachers from California and New York to take an exam aimed at guarding against “radical leftist ideology.”

The test is being developed by leadership from the Oklahoma State Department of Education and PragerU, a nonprofit advocacy group that produces videos promoting conservative views of history, finance and other topics. PragerU videos have already been approved for use in schools in several states, including Oklahoma.

“Our teacher qualification test is very simple,” PragerU CEO Marissa Streit said in a statement to The Times. “Frankly, every American should be able to pass it. Certainly, every teacher should be able to pass it.”

She added that the full test will be available in the coming weeks. “We encourage you to take a look at the test yourself and make your own decision on whether it’s reasonable or not,” she said.

Ryan Walters, Oklahoma’s state superintendent of public instruction, told The Times that he launched the test out of concern over state standards in California and New York that require teachers to instruct students about gender identity.

The test comes at a time when Californians are increasingly relocating to other states in search of a slower pace of life and more affordable housing. Some cities seeking to reverse years-long population declines have created incentive programs to attract remote workers.

Tulsa Remote, which pays workers $10,000 to move to the second-largest city in the Sooner State, has attracted more than 3,600 remote workers since its...

Why should politicians in Texas care? They all work for the democrats. Except one of them

There’s a larger than life sized portrait of LBJ in the meeting room at the capitol building. Not for nothing

They’re trying
Earring up everything building double decker roads all over paving the way with red carpet welcoming Californians

Pshaw

It's more than just ideology. It's soft, weak personalities—beta males and Karens instead of tough love, common sense, and strong character.

My mantra is a little different for my fellow former Texans: “Don’t Texas my Arkansas!”

“…Californians are increasingly relocating to other states in search of a slower pace of life and more affordable housing.”

That is 1/4 of the story. More importantly, Californians thirst for competent, fiscally prudent, pro-American, business-friendly places to live and raise families.

Any 2nd term senator can go squishy.

Good for them. Do not allow any of the taint to enter in. Of course people will lie when asked questions to get a job. A better way would be to closely monitor them for a couple years to ensure they are not indoctrinating children.

a test for all out of staters seeking to teach might pass constitutional muster, depending

a test just for Californians and NYorkers is fatally flawed at inception

Don’t Texas my Montana, either.

The Californians usually would hide, Texans and other southerners (sorry?) want you to know where they are from and how great it was. Also, their driving and manners are abhorrent.

Texas has it’s very own problems in addition to worrying about Californians.

BTW, DJT will be cleaning up CA so they can move back.

Greasy is history anyway.

If I were a school superintendent, I would never hire a “teacher” straight out of Cauliphonya. They’re weird and have some even weirder “core values.”

“Don’t California my Texas”

The most popular bumper sticker in Colorado fifty years ago was “DON’T CALIFORNICATE COLORADO!”

Well, it has been and bad! Now they are moving in on New Mexico.

When we in Wyoming talk about needing a wall on our southern border, we aren’t necessarily talking about Texas. The Rocky Mountain Front in Colorado is a cesspit that needs to be contained.

New hire teachers must be made to produce all of their social media content. If they have deleted their accounts then they won’t be considered in hiring.

I have to agree. Some of my least favor bureaucratic speak examples: “repurpose,” “impactful,” “gifting,” the list goes on and on.

I shall restate: “don’t turn Arkansas into Texas.”

Yep. My six immediate ancestors are all buried in Wyoming (long before the Robert Redford types discovered the Rockies, Big Horns, etc.) To see what the invaders have done is really depressing.

Californians thirst for competent, fiscally prudent, pro-American, business-friendly places to live and raise families.

Then why don't they go out into the streets in California and fight for it? It's not something that's just handed to you. You have to earn it by standing up to the hardcore Leftists who want to destroy that kind of life.

This is something were all going to have to do eventually. These communists are coming for our country and our way of life. If we don't fight for it, we are going to lose it.
