I am a Black man, a Democrat and the youngest person ever elected to the Newark City Council. I am a small-business owner and entrepreneur dedicated to rebuilding urban communities across the country. I stay active in Newark every political cycle, and I am a known and trusted neighborhood organizer within the city where I was born and raised.
I have been trying to find a rationale to vote for Mikie Sherrill — and, frankly, as an African American, I just can't do it, and neither can many Blacks in New Jersey

I can only say kee going, but I remember how hopeless it almost seemed in early 2021 and even more so 2013-15.
Jersey is a complete lost cause until they clean up the elections. This will be the first Governor’s race I will miss since the 80s. The winner this November has already been selected.

Scott Pressler doesn’t think Jersey is a lost cause. He’s concentrating on NJ now, after helping flip PA. Doesn’t mean NJ will magically turn red, but look at FL, PA etc.

2020 - Biden +16
2024 - Harris +6
I hope this is true but these stories about New Jersey always pop up around election time and usually turn out to not be true. NJ does elect a Republican governor every once in a while, when the Dems have completely screwed things up so maybe there is hope.
The NJ GOP candidate should go and meet this guy.
I took the time to read this. This is not huge at all. While his criticism of “not listening to Blacks” is reasonable (considering the relationship between black folks and the Democrats in NJ), his real issue is that she’s not making the same crazy promises that everyone else has - he continues to blame the government for poor rates of literacy in Newark, Trenton, and Camden, and takes issue with the black guy she chose as her running mate - because it isn’t *their* black guy.
Even with these issues, he’s providing cover for the Republican (is it Jack again) to make even more gains if people who share his opinion stay home. If enough folks stay home, JC has a good shot of beating Sherrill.
This is not a politician's fault. It's the parents fault. My wife used to make "home visits" to black parents homes as part of her 3rd grade teacher responsibilities. In almost all cases, there was a large screen TV, but not a book or magazine in sight. Playstations were commonplace, but nothing that encourage learning or reading. People are too quick to blame the teacher, when in fact it is the lack of educational support by parents that is killing blacks being educated. Blacks need to support teachers and realize that it is their lack of engagement with the kids and their educational setting that plays a major role in their lack of performance. We've thrown trillions of dollars at this problem, but the black community never got involved. So, if you want to point fingers, I hope you're doing it in front of a mirror.

Jersey is a totally lost cause since they have gone full commie. A judge ruled against Musk on his bonus package that the Tsla stockholders approve TWICE. The judge basically said that owners of assets in NJersey cannot decide how those assets are invested or spent — only NJersey judges can do that. This is asset seizure.

This person is only mad cause they think blacks don’t get enough stuff and jobs from her. No where do I see a change in attitude or a swing to the right.
They feel disrespected and they are mad that she is not kissing ass at the black churchs and hiring more black people.
What you say is true, the parents are barely literate themselves and they do not care or encourage learning themselves.
For most, the school is the time to get rid of the kids for several hours of “free” daycare.
If the black vote doesn’t come out than she will lose even with the fake ballots.

As a business owner, Oscar, you should be a Republican. But living where you do, that would be almost a death sentence.
Ciattarelli reminds me of a dirty cop on the Mafia’s payroll. He would have been perfect on The Sopranos. He’s thrown Trump under the bus many times. I’ll wait for the end of mail in ballots, paper ballots only, and voter ID before I go to the polls again in this state. Hopefully that will be the case by the midterms.
