The White House says those living in homeless encampments in the nation's capital will have two choices in the coming days: accept treatment at a homeless shelter, or go to jail.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the ultimatum during a Tuesday press conference as reporters prodded about President Donald Trump's federal takeover of Washington, D.C.'s law enforcement. She said many of the homeless encampments across the city have already been dismantled, and those that remain she expected to be dealt with this week.
"Seventy homeless encampments have been removed by the U.S. Park Police," Leavitt said, adding that the Metropolitan Police Department would be joining the Park Police in the effort. "There are only two homeless encampments remaining in D.C. federal parks under the National Park Service's jurisdiction, and the removal of those two remaining camps is scheduled for this week."
Asked about what options are available to those in homeless encampments, Leavitt was blunt: "homeless shelters, for addiction and mental health services, or jail if they refuse, are the options on the table right now."

The renewed focus follows a series of violent incidents in the city, some involving federal staffers, including a high-profile former employee from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) who was a victim of an attempted carjacking.
"We have a capital that’s very unsafe, you know, we just almost lost a young man, beautiful, handsome guy that got the hell knocked out of him," Trump said, referencing former DOGE employee Edward Coristine.
The president described crime in D.C. as "out of control," with young "thugs" and "gang members" who are "randomly attacking, mugging, maiming, and shooting innocent citizens."

They’ll go over to Alexandria VA.
I’m okay with this, but historically, when a city cracks down on homelessness (code for mental illness and/or drug addition) they just move on to the next city. Mentally ill people will almost never seek help. Drug addicts are terrified of getting off their drug. So, they move.
When the problem in the new location gets so bad it threatens the powers in charge, they’ll either also do something or be voted out. In either case, the homeless will move on even further. Eventually, if the entire country cracked down on homelessness, then they would either be forced into treatment or hiding. I’m okay with either one.
A cop told me, when you see a woman panhandling on the corner she almost always has a pimp controlling her with drugs. He gets the money. When you see a guy, he’s the one that won the fight for the good corner. I’ve often seen a panhandler with a black eye, both men and women. It’s a rough existence, but it’s one probably ninety percent have “chosen” through their bad life choices. Not our problem
Fly them over to Martha’s Vineyard and let the libtards sort them out.
Obama judge to issue an injunction in 3...2..1...
KICK THE DAMN BUMS OUT OF DC!
Maryland can have ‘em
I never dreamed there were homeless living in tents in DC.
I count three.
1. Treatment at a shelter for mental health issues.
2. Jail for crimes committed.
3. Move to a city that welcomes them as-is with open arms.
Los Angeles is suffering from a shortage of illegal aliens to fill jobs, and has nice year round weather...
There’s a 4th. Move into a crack house with Hunter.
There is a third choice...it must be said. Go assault law enforcemnt and/or a private armed citizen and you’ll get all of your problems solved.
Three solutions needed:
1. Town Farms for the truly needy.
2. Mental institutions for the crazies.
3. “Gated communities” (fenced and guarded) for the uncurable addicts.
I witness to homeless people.
the problem is mental illness, not drug addiction; or the problem is drug addiction, not mental illness...
In other words, are they homeless because they are crazy or are they crazy because they are homeless?
Involuntary confinement for a minimum of 6 months to dry them out, forced labor to strengthen them, forced remedial education to get their minds working again...
the ones who actually want to change will appear out of that. And it willbe clear who wants to change after a while and who needs to be kept safe from themselves.
The ones who respond to change?
THOSE are the ones you step in and do more for.
Until they appear willing to change, all you are doing is throwing money at the problem.
And that is where it begins and that is where it ends.

My bet is on treatment at a homeless shelter for them normal people don’t live like they do.
