The man who fatally shot three people in the parking lot of a Target in Austin, Texas, was identified as 32-year-old Ethan Nieneker.
Nineker has a criminal record and a “mental health history.”
The shooting took place in the Target parking lot on Research Blvd.
Nineker reportedly fled in a stolen in vehicle after he killed three people, including a child.
The 32-year-old crashed the vehicle as he fled so he hijacked a second vehicle and sped off before officers used a taser to take him down.
The motive for the shooting is not known.

Police have identified the man accused of fatally shooting three people, including a child, outside a Target store in Austin, Texas, on Monday.
Authorities said Tuesday that 32-year-old Ethan Nieneker, who has a criminal record and a history of mental health issues, opened fire around 2:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Target at 8601 Research Boulevard in North Austin. Two of the victims, an adult and a child, died at the scene. A third victim died after being taken to a hospital. A fourth person was treated at the scene for unrelated injuries.
After the shooting, investigators said Nieneker stole a car and fled, crashing it shortly afterward. He then allegedly hijacked another vehicle and drove off again before officers used a Taser to detain him in South Austin, Police Chief Lisa Davis said.

There is NO EXCUSE for this guy NOT being in jail, this is precisely why we have these types of crime repeatedly!! NOW 4 people dead when the guy clearly should have been off the streets!! We need to start locking up these judges for allowing this to happen!!! How in the hell did this guy get a firearm with ALL of these family violence charges against him AND protective orders being violated!! OMG……..SPIT!!
It has been suggested by many that the nuclear family unit has been falling apart. The number of single parent families due to choice (not war) is at an all time high.
Pre-1968 birth control was unrealiable. Post 1968 it has been sold as reliable. Pre-birth control people were careful what they did because they would live with the results the rest of their life. Post-birth control immediate gratification has been dominant.
The result is increasingly our “family structure” is weak or non-existant. This results in kids, and adults who used to be kids, who have not learned how to think, and how to act, about situations in their life.
Return to the nuclear 1 man, 1 woman, a few kids is one answer.
Government role? Don’t pay EBT, TANF, WIC, Medicaid to single parents. Reward 2 parent families.....probably with no taxes.
Too damn bad he was not killed while trying to escape.

Maybe it’s psych drugs but I’m convinced it is the use of meth and fentynol and what they do to the brain in the impulse control regions.

I’m always piqued when mental illness is mentioned. Having one myself, I wouldn’t like people to think I am dangerous just because I am on the autism spectrum. Shooting random people is way out there, and not sure mental illness covers it.
