Location matters, former real estate mogul US President Donald Trump said. Moments later he announced Alaska, a place sold by Russia to the United States 158 years ago for $7.2 million, would be where Russian President Vladimir Putin tries to sell his land deal of the century, getting Kyiv to hand over chunks of land he’s not yet been able to occupy.
The conditions around Friday’s summit so wildly favor Moscow, it is obvious why Putin leapt at the chance, after months of fake negotiation, and it is hard to see how a deal emerges from the bilateral that does not eviscerate Ukraine. Kyiv and its European allies have reacted with understandable horror at the early ideas of Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, that Ukraine cede the remainders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in exchange for a ceasefire.
Naturally, the Kremlin head has promoted the idea of taking ground without a fight, and found a willing recipient in the form of Witkoff, who has in the past exhibited a relaxed grasp of Ukrainian sovereignty and the complexity of asking a country, in the fourth year of its invasion, to simply walk out of towns it’s lost thousands of men defending.

Hard to do worse than CNN via Yahoo.
Ukraine and Europeans, just say no.
My goal was to present an opinion by the losers.
oh, i didn’t know they were winning...
No bias at all in that article. Nope. No, sirree. Not one little bit.
No criticism of you was intended.
its good to leave the whining grifter out of an adult conversation. EU and ukies should stay quiet and hope for reasonable....
soon the little grifter will demand the long dead temporary ceasefire(nonstarter). Let Trump do the negotiating, this could be good for both sides!
TASS:”MOSCOW, August 9. /TASS/
MOSCOW, August 9. /TASS/. Forces opposed to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine have intensified in European countries on the eve of a Russian-American summit in Alaska, said Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma’s committee on international affairs and leader of the LDPR Party.
“The European war party is mobilizing its ranks ahead of the Russian-American summit in Alaska. Vladimir Zelensky is convulsing and calling [British Prime Minister Keir] Starmer, [French President Emmanuel] Macron, and obviously [German Chancellor Friedrich] Merz and [European Commission President Ursula] von der Leyen,” he wrote on Telegram.
Slutsky noted that European politicians seek either to draw US President Donald Trump into an anti-Russian coalition, or to prevent the conclusion of peace and the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The politician also added that such developments could undermine the positions of European politicians based on anti-Russian rhetoric.
“Everything will be decided by [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and Trump”
The forces of evil:
EU leaders,Starmer, US democrats!
They’ll do anything they can to prevent Trump from stopping this war. The Russians apparently agree!
Hey CNN, you got any better ideas, this “war” has been going on for what, 4 yrs now, if it were up to CNN, this “War” would be going on for another 50 yrs, just as long as the neocons continue to make ALL THAT MONEY
Ukrain lost a long time ago, they really never stood a chance. But the globalist saw an opportunity for graft and blood and leaped. Really, it’s survival of the fittest and the Ukrainian leadership were morons and easily manipulated.

If nothing else, this will be an honest meeting. And by that I mean it will be a meeting between the two real adversaries in this conflict — the U.S. and Russia — with the NPCs (Ukraine and western Europe) sitting on the sidelines.

LOL. Hard to find a place that is farther away from Zelenski and the Euro-weenies.
All the other peace deals Trump has won, were easy and the Ukraine deal won’t be so easy.
One-sided deals are not deals. If Ukraine ends up losing in any fashion, it’s not the end of the war, so no deal.
The Putin supporters are so hopeful, but they will be sorely disappointed.
Regardless of the meaning of the summit to both sides, I am always reminded about Alaska being so close to Russia. In the techno thriller novel Flight of the Old Dog by Dale Brown the B 52 lands secretly across the Bering Strait and the crew has to pretend to be humble Soviet peasants with minimal spoken Russian. His first novel.
Sarah Palin controversy. The interviewer Charles Gibson asked her what insight she had gained from living so close to Russia, and she responded: “They’re our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska”.
Then SNL made it into “I can see Russia from my house.” and people started to believe it after the Dems repeated the lie.
Lindsey is confident.
You should be too.

Ukraine, not so much.
Both Zelensky and Putin are fortunate that Trump is a decent guy. Trump doesn’t like either of them, but he understands them and their interests and wants a deal that doesn’t leave either of them feeling screwed over or humiliated. Trump is actually negotiating on behalf of both of them, whether they realize it or not.
“They’ll do anything they can to prevent Trump from stopping this war. “
That means they must stop the summit.
Zelensky, EU and US democrats DO NOT represent the will of the majority of Ukrainians:
