No AI glasses? You'll be at a 'cognitive disadvantage,' predicts Mark Zuckerberg.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks smart glasses are the future.

During Meta's second-quarter earnings call, Zuckerberg doubled down on the idea that smart glasses will soon become the main way people interact with AI and replace other devices as "primary computing devices."

"I continue to think that glasses are basically going to be the ideal form factor for AI," he told investors on Wednesday's call, adding that wearables with cameras, microphones, and displays will unlock new levels of utility.

"I think in the future, if you don't have glasses that have AI or some way to interact with AI, I think you'd probably be at a pretty significant cognitive disadvantage compared to other people," Zuckerberg said.

So people who reject AI and do the actual work in school and have the ability to read novels and other long form works will be at a "cognitive disadvantage"?

Facebook has made millions of people retarded, so I’ll ignore anything this guy says about the future.

Well, since I doubt they’ll come in my prescription, guess I’ll just have to muddle along without them.

I’ll manage.

I'm already deplorable. What's a little more disadvantage at this point?

None of his bullshit products are on my list of must-haves and they never will be. If enough Zuck-suckers become dependent on Meta, the future will only appear to have gone to the Meta-savvy while the rest of us inherit it.

Hey Zuckerslug, one’s cognitive capacity is not increased by reading text off a glass screen.

AI glasses more likely will make people even less intellectually proficient and more like NPCs.

We drown in data. AI will make it worse, with endless information bombarding us.

Is any part of our society trying to help us manage this situation? Helping us stay afloat in a sea of data? Our schools? Our media? Our government?

No.

Critical thinking is not welcomed. Discernment is not appreciated. Original thinking is rejected. No decent coping mechanisms are presented to us to help the public survive in the the 21st century.

“Cognitive disadvantage”? That’s what they want for us. They want to manipulate us. They want us to drown in lies so that we just do as we’re told. It’s all part of the New Slavery.

AI doesn’t enhance your critical thinking skills. In fact, it makes them worse.

“We drown in data. AI will make it worse, with endless information bombarding us.”

And the constant bombardment of ads, they will be relentless as that’s where the money will be. You can only imagine the number of deaths that will result of people not paying attention.

I use AI all the time. Several times during the day. It can help with many things but most of the time, it’s just a database that regurgitates
nonsense. AI is simply a faux “mind” whose only experience and memory comes from the Internet. The Internet is about 90% porn with some cat videos and recipes built-in. That’s about it so if your mind consists of that there’s not a lot there. I’m not concerned if I don’t use this stuff -it could disappear tomorrow and my life would be fine.

Recently built cabinets and Shaker doors for my garage remodel.

Because 3/4” cabinet grade plywood and solid American Cherry are expensive, I wanted to optimize my cuts to leave very little waste. I laid the plywood cuts out on graph paper easily, cut, assembled and installed the boxes.

Then came time for the doors. I calculated the door sizes for overlay and reveal, which determined the length of the stiles & rails and had a hardwood shop run the cherry through the joiner & planer. Now to optimize my cuts, including a test door panel before ordering the cherry, I sat at diner one morning with my graph paper to lay it out. The very sweet owner, suggested; “have you thought of asking AI to create your cut list?”

No. I had not thought of it. So, I input all the measurements, including the raw material and final pieces needed, allowing for saw kerfs and end cuts. It spit out a 7 page reply that was so confusing that I just laughed it off. It took more time to read and attempt to digest the reply, with its six different options than it did to figure it out on graph paper, using a calculator and a soft lead mechanical pencil. I didn’t trust the AI suggestions whatsoever!

AI is over rated.
...to my mind

Meta glasses.
Spying on everyone else
All the time
Without consent.

People who wear them are shamed as “glassholes”

I have zero social media presence except here.
I don’t consent to be posted on anyone’s snatchgram page, or in their book-o-faces (feces).

Prefer to just be found in the book of life.
